I heard that negotiations are in place to make some open top and put them on sightseeing bus tours in Central London. In exchange tri-axle sightseeing buses will be permanently roofed up and refurbished to TfL specs to be allocated on various bus routes, the 12 being the first to convert.

I also heard somewhere that every road wide enough will have a bus Lane in both directions

It's been reported that Stockwell's LT blindsets now include the N44 and N155, this being to allow fleet flexibility and to further prevent overnight allocation of Es and WVLs into the ULEZ (hybrids and electric deckers only). Therefore it looks like the borough of Sutton may soon be included[1] regarding LTs running through it on a regular route. [1] - N44 entering the borough from Rose Hill into Sutton itself Must remember today is one of those days you can’t believe everything you read 😂 Well the N155 has takrn at least 1 LT I presume you know that it was the fav GAL night spare trickymicky loool

What's the likelihood of the 176 being converted to a full LT operation in the not too distant future?

What's the likelihood of the 176 being converted to a full LT operation in the not too distant future? It was rumoured it would be as the 311 would need conventional buses so would swap like with the 87 and 88.

Could the 156 not become fully routemaster because the N87 is partly routemaster and that goes past where the N87 goes?

Even if the 48 is withdrawn about some will have to go onto the 55.
It's Arriva HVs that there will be lots spare of with potentially the large cut to the 19, 67 and a few off the 242.

Don't underestimate TFL if they have plans for a route. The 27 and C2 received high opposition and went ahead and TFL can argue that the sky hasn't feel in with either cutback.

I doubt the 48 will be withdrawn now but never know Knowing TfL they probably already had plans for its LTs elsewhere! look at the 20 /388 situation where cuts planned for one route should have released buses for the other.
If the 48 is saved I guess it could convert to conventional buses if available but guess that would mean the tender needing to be renegotiated with Arriva.

Meanwhile every 48 I see at Liverpool Street is packed / no seats left with a fair bunch standing at peak hours. This is not a fresh air carrying route!
