OMG I think I know this guy, is he a bus driver? Yes he works at Q, I've seen him on the 40 a couple of times.

I could certainly see one of Arriva's route converting immediately after the 48 is axed. Particularly as this could release some hybrids, most likely HVs, for the take-up of route 34 4 weeks later.

I could certainly see one of Arriva's route converting immediately after the 48 is axed. My money would be on the 259 because it has a similar PVR to the 48 (48's PVR=19 259's PVR=22) plus I believe AE have a few extra LTs knocking around from PVR reductions to the 48, if not then LTs released from the 59 cut can make their way up to AR. The 34 has a PVR of 22 so directly inherit all the 259's HVs and I would imagine the 102 will get HVs released from the 67's cut. I can see a BN route converting to part LT (provided none will be needed elswhere) BN will have plenty of spare LTs when the 59 is cut, don't forget the LTs from the 137 cut still haven't be repurposed. Route 259 is a good choice. It largely duplicates other LT routes 91, 149 & 253/254.

Seeing as this is a speculative thread, I am going to suggest the surplus LTs from the various rounds of central London route cuts will go on the 139 It is coming up for tender, but if converted later this year, allows its current fleet to move to 266 or 94 in December Would probably save TfL the cost of 25 upgrades of SPs in RATP fleet (including the 9 euroIII difficult to do versions)

I agree with you about the good alternative uses that could be made for VHs. However, with Metroline in with a chance of resuming operation of route 139 if they win the tender, I would prefer them to be able to use their own vehicles.

Route 48 is an option, but I thought Arriva would keep those to release other HVs for route 34.

I wonder if the extra LTs for the 149's frequency increase will come from the 48 or 59, not that it really matters

According to London bus routes no change to PVR. I still think the remaining LTs from the 48 will remain at Arriva to free up some buses for the 34/102.

Its almost certain another Arriva route will inherit the LTs from cuts to the 48 and 59. I'm interested to see whether this is going to be a part or full conversion

67 seems the most logical once its cut and roughly matches the amount of spare buses available.

67 seems the most logical once its cut and roughly matches the amount of spare buses available. If that happens it would make SF the very first fully LT garage.
