427 to Ealing Broadway (2573) Central Line to Holborn for work
Afterwards:
243 to Waterloo (HV379)
SWR to North Sheen
Walk to Sainsbury's
371 to Kingston Hall Road (SP40110) - I've been wanting to do this route with a decker for so long, so to finally get round to doing it was great. Amazing route. The SPs suit it so well, with the driver flooring the bus where possible. Tthe scenery is brilliant especially the excellent Star and GarterHill. I loved this route so much, even the residential sections weren't bad due to interesting architecture, excellent route, and a huge shame it isn't very useful for practical journeys. 10/10
418 to Tolworth Broadway (ADE40303)
Walk to Tolworth Tower
281 to Hounslow, Bus Station (SP40121) - Another bloody good route. It has a nice balance of scenery which makes it so enjoyable. I found it excellent for the most part, a neat cross Kingston link is good, and the route is generally very enjoyable with the highlight being the Kingston-Twicikenham section. Again another fantastic SP from the brilliant Fulwell garage. I won't deny this route was a little dry in places, the Twickenham Stadium-Hounslow section being boring with little of interest, I'm sure had I done it the other way, I would have gotten bored south of Kingston because of course this is a long route. 9/10
E8 to Swyncombe Avenue (VW1063)
Walk home
I'm so glad you liked the 371 and 10 out of 10 is huge praise. It really is one of the best routes out there in London IMO. The hill sections are great. It's just a shame on a sunday SPs are very rare.

It feels odd not coming to London today. October is often one of my favourite months for a London daytrip. A combo of a personal incentive for Warrington today and a wish for some Remain areas available during the dark & cold months have mitigated in favour of November 23rd instead.

Funny you mention this, I’m coming to London today after not being able to since June lol Going to definitely ride the 335 alongside the pair of Electric Double Deckers and see where I go from there.

493 to Roehampton, nothing too interesting here.
265 to tolworth, this route is great and drivers really put their foot down along the A3, doing a loop around Roehampton is a bit annoying but can't complain to much as it's useful for the residents. 8 out of 10
K2 to surbiton Station. A nice route going around the back streets of Tolworth and Berrylands, getting the 281 or even getting the 406/418 to Surbiton telephone exchange then walking down to the station would have been much quicker but wanted to try the K2 out. 7 out of 10
RRBS from Surbiton to Wimbledon, got PVL286 on this journey now owned by Red Routemaster. Really nice to get some old London stuff on rail replacement work and SWR always has a lot. The only modern bus I saw was a CT plus 25** and an Arriva E200 MMC. 8 out of 10
156 to Wandsworth. Nothing to say really. 5 out of 10.
270 to Putney Bridge. Got a WSD which is my first time on one on the route. Only a short journey so can't say much but like the mixed variety of buses on this route which when Abellio take over will be no more.
Walk to Putney Arts theatre to catch a 337 back.

Sounds like a pretty good day. I agree that the variety of types on AL routes is good, I enjoy the variety of types when I occasionally use the 57, but I found the WSD ruined my most recent journey on that route, how did you find the WSD on the 270?

Not a fan of the WSD at all but wanted to get one before Abellio take over.

Hope you have enjoyed London today. I usually have 3 London bus trips a year, and mine from 27.10.18 was my happiest from last year. I spent all year eagerly awaiting my Metorline EvoSeti & SR rides, and had the long running cliffhanger surrounding whether I would track down a refurb SEL on route 292 or whether these would face premature withdrawal.

I decided against today , mainly due to the weather, have a few places in mind for decent photos in due course (Won't be tomorrow either).

493 to Roehampton, nothing too interesting here. Apart from the fact a Roehampton curtailment is much rarer than the others (Putney Heath & Barnes Common) Edit: Don't think it is an authorised/ on TfL tender specs curtailment either?
