I just wondering what the cost is for an individual bus? Brand new and Built from the manufacture. But yes, the engines got to be Euro 6 in 2014...
I just wonder what the cost is for the following buses
Alexander Dennis Enviro 400 Alexander Dennis Enviro 400 Hybrid Wright Gemini Volvo B5LH Hybrid Wright Gemini 3 StreetDeck Volvo B5TL New Bus for London
But do the operators pay for the buses by the PVR of the route in which the manufacture gives couple of spare buses without cost?
But will TFL allow the fleet to be mixed and match with hybrids and non hybrids?
But It don't have to be TFL telling operators to buy them, it can be private operators that run commercial routes or routes contracted by the council.
Would it be cheaper to buy a Euro 6 diesel bus because it spews out lower emissions with them engines? The hybrids are more expensive because they need to add electric motor and batteries on. Would it be best if the hybrids get their price to the same as any other double deck hybrids?
But it amazes me how London get the newer buses then the rest of Britain have.

Dont take this as fact as im not 100% on all my points but dont operators submit a tender on how much they can operate the route for and include cost of vehicles?
Obviously the cost with existing vehicles/ new vehicles and now probably a hybrid option submitted as well
Highly doubt the manufacturers give spare buses for free i assume this is included in the tender cost
Can't see TfL disallowing a mixed batch for a route after all the 320 operated by Metrobus uses some old 52 plated Omnidekkas and newer Omnicity DD's. If my memory serves me correctly the 52 plates were bought for the original tender but when the route was extended some extras were needed thus Omni DDs were ordered.
Euro 6 price probably is around the average of a euro 5 but would be cheaper on road tax

According to route one trade magazine, they did an interview with someone from ADL or Cummis (I can't remember who) about euro 6 engines and they said euro 6 is going to be £10k- £15k more than euro 5. The biggest cost of new build buses is the labour costs because they are hand built by skilled works.
You have to take into account how many buses you are ordering, as I believe if you want one or two new buses you can have them to the same spec as a massive order form one of the big groups and you will get them cheaper compared to having them to your own spec.

In answer to the original question, could get a bulk discount, but its not like the supermarket buy 2 get 1 free.
Actually the concept of prices is vague, there isn't a published price list, so its a bit academic as you get a quote depending on your sales enquiry. Just like cars can easily change the price depending on options to be fitted. Clearly bigger orders will be less per unit as you get bulk discount. I'm led to believe TfL spec costs over 20000 more than basic spec because of second door, power ramp, power blinds, cab air con, upper cooling, CCTV, screens etc.

OP - the streetdeck though same body as the gemini 3 B5TL is a different vehicle rather, so the B5TL version is the gemini 3 or 'dream decker' the integral with the mercedes engine is the streetdeck

Price3s will vary depending on factors like order size and most importantly, specification.
But the averages are, to TFL spec: Average cost of a diesel DD - between £150k and £280k Average cost of a hybrid DD (not NB4L) - up to £350k Average cost of a Diesel SD - just over half the cost of the DD's.
We all know about the cost of the NB4L's......
