Operating problems in that something is wrong with the gauging and two S's can't past each other in a certain place without crashing into each other?

Apparently the last 4 trains formed of C stock will be gone on 3rd June so Monday appears to be your last time to ride them. 6 of the 8 remaining trains will be removed for scrap leaving just 2 trains 1 of which will be operating the farewell rail tour

Not bad for a 62 stock

I want to see if they will replicate the thrash the A stock had where one of them hit 73 MPH on its final journey That fast? Not bad for a 62 stock In my very early days with LU I had a cab ride in A Stock from Amersham. This was before the trains were speed limited and we certainly saw 70mph on the speedo. Great fun. I think it C Stock tries to do 70 mph it will impersonate a steam train with clouds of black fumes pouring from the overstretched motors!

The 'C' won't do speeds like that, 45mph at a push. Plus after the after affect of the various videos being posted on Youtube showing the 'A' over the limit (Idiots!) meaning various people getting into trouble, Nothing like that will happen.

The most I ever got from a C stock was 49mph and it was a challenge stopping with the westinghouse

Great fun. I think it C Stock tries to do 70 mph it will impersonate a steam train with clouds of black fumes pouring from the overstretched motors! The S having 100% motored axles (total of 28 axles, C would have 12/24) should do better but depends on how they're geared and what the top speed is set (probably 50-55 I'm guessing). C Stock would be woeful as mentioned Bit like a comparison with a Class 455, geared for 75mph max (and only 4/16 motored axles per unit ) but really don't seem to get above around 50-60. On the 1923 Waterloo-Surbiton (non-stop on the fast line) the driver doesn't stop motoring at all after clearing a speed restriction at Clapham Jn* until near Surbiton that runs in multiple so 8/32 motored axles and they're only on two coaches out of 8. A Class 450 Desiro would have no problems reaching the speed limit even after taking into account it having the double number of motored axles as they're geared for 100mph. (* seems to only apply to Class 455)
