Hi everyone!
I am intrigued in finding out routes that are paired together on a rota/schedule. I ask this because I recall many times in the early and mid 2000's seeing a few drivers on Route W13 one day and the next day driving Route W14. The same applies to Route 275 and 20 when operated by Arriva. I even remember in the early till mid 2000's when Route 275 was single decker operated, you would see at the back blind of the bus 173.
Another branch to this topic would be if there are rota's where drivers are required to drive two different routes during the day or for the week.
Thanks in advance

I believe the 44 and 77 at Merton are still under one rota, possibly the same being for the 219 with the 270. When I was there in the early 00s some duty cards had 44 first half with the 77 second half, or vice versa. Because of this there were times when one would be driving along Garrett Lane and would have to concentrate on whether to go straight on (44) or turn right (77) at Earlsfields.

Most Stagecoach routes are on a single route rota - I'm on the 205 rota now and that'll be the only route I do unless I have a spare day. Kinda sucks but it saves the company one huge headache (as they had when the 106 went!) if a route is lost.

Unless it's changed recently, Stagecoach BK have a mixture of single and mixed route rotas- the 5 and 101 appear to be on seperate rotas, the remaining routes are mixed together on seperate rotas- one for the 62, 145 and 169 the other 366, 387 and 396 (I'm happy to be corrected though)
Way back many many years ago when I worked for (S)Limebourne each route was on a seperate roster, but each single route roster would contain ocasional duties on other routes. On the 369 Rota at Capital Citybus/ First Capital we had one Sunday morning duty on the 179

104/238 and now 262/473 on sat/suns.
Both can involve driving the paired routes on the same day.

At TB we officially have single rotas but in reality I believe the 227 rota is the only rota at the garage not to have at least one other route on it
The 61 and 208 rotas work off the same duty schedule with duties being either all 61, all 208 or 61 first half/208 second half or visa versa. Additionally there are some school bus jobs on that duty schedule working morning or afternoon 638s (and a 637, although that is on the school bus rota). There used to be a couple of three part jobs working a morning 638 then two separate stints on the 61. Not sure if they are still there though
I've not looked at the 261 rota closely but I have seen 261 drivers working on the 208s at weekends - could obviously be rest days though. So the 261s may be a true single route rota as well
I'm fairly certain the 269 rota and 314 rota contain jobs on both routes although none are mixed ie 269 first half/314 second half (or visa versa)
The 246 rota contains 61 and 314 duties but again none are mixed
The school bus rota has jobs involving 637/638s, 61s and 208s and I believe they are mixed
And then there's my rota; the R route rota. We do the R5/R10 and R7 (obviously!) along with 638s, the 636, the 664, 261s and 61s. And we do have a nice mixture of routes in our duties. There's a couple that do R5/R10s and R7s, there's a R5/R10 and 261 job, there's a 638/R7 job and a 664/R7 job, a couple of all R5/R10 or all R7, the all 261 weekend jobs and then the three parters working 664/R5/R10/636 and 638/61/664. I think that's everything!

I could be asked to do any of the Bow day routes (though I do know all of the night routes as well) and one on occasion I was due to be standby at Bow and got sent over to Romford (to be standby there instead!) where I also know all their routes.

Because of this there were times when one would be driving along Garrett Lane and would have to concentrate on whether to go straight on (44) or turn right (77) at Earlsfields. The 44/77 have separated now. It was done for the last tender and has remained that way. It is TUPE that has caused some routes to be separated out, and once a split was settled any staff on relevant rotas were glued to it until the next tender, and normally went with the route if lost. This happened with the P5/484 at Q a few years ago. The split took place and all drivers on route 484 were forced to move, P5 drivers stayed. I believe the only joint compilation at Merton now is the 163/164, but I may be out of date. Others in Go-Ahead which, as far as I know are still jointly compiled, are 68/468/X68 and 360/P5 at Q, 36/171 at NX, 14/22 and 74/430 at AF, 507/521 at RA. Of these mentioned the 68/468/X68, 36/171, 74/430 and 507/521 are completely joint compiled so that a duties can mix routes up in a day. The others are only jointly compiled as a rota and drivers stay on the same route during each duty. The main reason for the joint compilations on 74/430 and 36/171 is to balance off driving hours on long spells of duties on the garage terminating routes.

If I'm Right the EL1 and EL2 are on the same Rotas There is also cross linked journeys, the same buses are used on the EL1/EL2 all day and swap between routes at certain points. Surprised no one has mentioned Routes 327 & 491 which have cross-linked journeys Monday-Saturday, most of the day every other bus on the 491 works the 327, e.g off peak 81, 83, 85, 87, 89 will work the 327 in that order 1 rounder only, then 82, 84, 86, 88, 90 1 rounder only. It works like this because the 491 is every 15 mins and the 37 is every 30 mins.

At Dartford Garage, B12/13/15 are all on same rota, sometimes involving driving two routes in one day, also 428/492 have a couple of duties where you do a different route each half.
