It is defiantly a knackered Alison box, not a ZF that's for sure Despite now having a push button gear selector? Yes for sure, rode the bus 3 times since first hearing about it, there is no way it's on ZF

The face lifted/ new E200 will be launched towards the end of this year, so I'm guessing deliveries will start early next year. When ADL launched the E500NG they still had people ordering the old E500 as well as the new one, so the same thing could happen with the new E400s and E200s, which could be interesting to see how long the older ones are made after the new ones are launched.
I would like to drive the new E400 just to see how different it is compared to the out going E400, but taking no notice to the power performance as this will be different. I just hope they have kept the big spacious cab. One of the biggest let downs of the PVLs and WVLs is they have a cramped cab.

Good thing you didn't have the PDL Tridents as their cabs were even more cramped. Are the new E200/E400s (or E20D/E40D in new money) to be officially known as the Mark II?

I can say I'm surprised Although I do look forward to one actually in london service I can say the same thing, they have managed to increase the number of seats which is good and the new model looks very nice than the Gemini 3 by Wrigthbus. I can't wait for one in London service.

Will be interesting to know if the rattling is at least reduced. Hopefully they will tend to the creaking laminate cove panels of the Enviro 400 particularly on the top deck. You can hear them flex as the bus passes over bumps which is not something that afflicts Optare or Wright products. Not ADL's fault but the Ventura glide doors rattle a lot more than the old Deans/Peter systems used. A lot of the noise at the front is caused by the Ventura door bouncing around. The new design is nice but not as radical as the Enviro 400 Mk1 or as pretty IMO. The design doesn't seem to be quite as "fluid/flowing" as with the Mk1 Enviro 400. Areas such as the curving black lines from the destination screen to the bottom of the top window don't quite work - although I can see why they did it as the top window doesn't wrap around the sides as the windscreen does. The "hips" adjacent to the rear lower window look a bit odd too. I think the design will translate better to the E200. However, credit to ADL they do move their designs along unlike the Wright Gemini which looks pretty much the same from Mk 1 to Mk3 save for a new grille and lighting arrangement under the front windscreen being the most obvious change.

Does this mean the 49, 286, C3, E1 and some later versions of the Stagecoach models order will be upgraded to this new version? New bus 2444 (for the E1) was recently sighted London bound, looking the same in appearance as 2401–43.

Ah thanks, so that rules the C3 off the list as well but there is still hope for the 49 and 286.. right?

New bus 2444 (for the E1) was recently sighted London bound, looking the same in appearance as 2401–43. The 49 deliveries are in Aug, just after the late July summer factory shutdown, will be a close run thing if they are the new type. According to the noticeboard, routes 109 and N109 will be operated at BEDDINGTON with 27 new hybrid double decks. 415 will be operated at WL with 8 new new hybrids. The notice also say that the 109/N109 will be Abellio's largest route. Also, I was told that routes 3 and N3 will be staying at QB. As these are due early next due would almost certainly be the new MMC type (assuming Abellio continues to order ADL products which have been the norm for years) Another possibility is the current West London routes out to tender 350, and 482 (currently London United) and 282 (currently Metroline West), if Abellio win some of these it might swap the E1 batch with the 415 batch (to allow WS to operate the new MMC type, rather than a mix)
