I have created this thread to discuss anything to do with Tramlink, for example the fleet of trams, extensions, disruptions etc

Some of the CR4000's have appeared with new lights, like 2534,2538, 2539, 2540, 2543, 2551 etc (2548 has just been recently fitted with new front lights) Is this part of a modernisation programme for the CR4000's which are nearly 15 years old?

The line 4 route bothers me in that whether I wait for it at East Croydon, more often than not its is always after the Line 3 to Wimbledon service. It would be great if it came before like it did yesterday but for some reason it didn't show on the passenger information display. It even worse waiting for it at the other end in Therapia Lane as you can see it at the depot just waiting to enter into Therapia Lane tram stop but it seems to wait for at least two New Addington services before departing As for the fleets, I much prefer the new trams but travelling on the older trams seems to be more comfortable

AIUI extra trams are on order and there is a closure of the platform at Wimbledon to allow an extra one to be constructed. Other work has happened / is ongoing to raise track capacity on the Wimbledon line to allow the more frequent services. It's amazing that it'll end up with a 5 min headway when the old BR trains ran every 40-45 mins!

How will the extra platform be installed at at Wimbledon? Would it be like Clapham Junction P1/2?

Are those new Variobahns that are coming soon going to be for Line 3? I use the route a lot and i am bored with the CR4000's constantly appearing at Coombe Lane, but sometimes, i do get the occasional Variobahn however In my opinion, the CR4000's need a refurbishment, with a Passenger display in the place of the Tram Stopping signs, which are not needed. And the handlebars in them could be changed to Green.

The CR4000's were refurbed not long after TfL took control of Tramlink so they won't be done anytime soon.

I seem to recall it being quite busy and I was always surprised as to why there were only running that service with two carriages only. Anyway, the Wimbledon service needs an increase as soon as possible. There been far too many occasions when I have to squeeze my self into the tram and sometimes I'm having to stand uncomfortably just so others can stand or hold on. Rush hour and Sundays are the worst.

The McMillan Williams livery on 2531 is the WORST advertising livery i have ever seen . It is SO freaky because of all those faces on the side!! What do you think of that livery?

Has anyone seen 2553 recently? It was damaged in an Accident after it hit a truck in King Henry's Drive. Is it back in service? It is most likely going to be fitted with those new set of lights

TfL have launched a consultation on route options for a new tram loop in Croydon Town Centre. Consultation linkI knew they were thinking about this but interesting that we've reached the consultation stage already even if it's only for a preferred route option.
