I should imagine there must be along the route as well as this as double deckers have killed people on other routes, purely by accident didn’t mean they have had their deckers revoked and a single decker also can kill someone, I should imagine there maybe more to it. Well I doubt there are physical restrictions when the route regularly used double deckers when at HH, however, I doubt the SPs/VHs at FW are blinded for the 216. The SPs at FW are blinded for the route well certainly some of them are. Not sure about the VHs

It used to happen an awful lot a few years ago.

It used to happen an awful lot a few years ago. From what I can see the last double decker to do the 216 was SP40195 on 16/11/17 was on the route from 07.20 to 08.40. The 15 plate VHs have been on the route.

There are no physical restiction from the 216 taking double deckers, but there are pratical ones. I believe the reason double deckers are banned is because someone was killed by a double decker on the route, that's what george told me. I should imagine there must be along the route as well as this as double deckers have killed people on other routes, purely by accident didn’t mean they have had their deckers revoked and a single decker also can kill someone, I should imagine there maybe more to it. There are certainly no physical restrictions.
I'm not sure that DDs are officially banned from the route. What we do know is that a DD on the 216 was involved in a collision with a pedestrian, who sadly died from their injuries. DDs then ceased to appear on the route shortly afterwards, whereas previously they were quite common.
IIRC there was a bit of local comment about the fact that it was a DD that was involved, even though the vehicle type was irrelevant. My guess is that the garage / management chose to stop DD appearances on the route rather than argue the case with locals who would, understandably, be quite sensitive about the issue. But that doesn't mean there is necessarily an official ban, unless anyone knows any better. If it had been a route where DDs were actually needed, I suspect DDs would still be in use.

There was a lot of local comment! After this accident (which would imo have happened whether it was a double or single deck) local resident pressure basically ended double deck operation on the 216. The route itself has no physical restrictions.

Meanwhile, in upcoming changes...
Route 335 starts this weekend between Kidbrooke and North Greenwich.
...except it's actually a North Greenwich spider map... ...which, because it's the new sort of spider map, doesn't show the new route beyond Blackheath... ...so it's not terribly useful.

You'll also look in vain for 'Strathdean Road' - it's Stratheden. Saying the 188 serves the London Eye is also a bit of a stretch.

Information I read in the garage today that it will be on diversion on the first day. Skipping out the Kidbrooke loop.

Has the 75 been permanently diverted via Molesworth Street upon leaving Lewisham?
I’m on 75 now and this is the third time it’s happened in the last two weeks, I’ve only used it those three times as well

Right turn into Lewis Grove temporarily banned during the works.
