That 328 extension would make it quite lengthy and TBH, there isn’t any need for it. Indeed it would, adding around 1.3 miles to the existing route. That's approximately the same as a cut down from Golders Green to West Hampstead, which is possible now that the 139 doesn't terminate there... I shall say no more Kilburn and Golders Green have been connected since the birth of time, so it'd be a brave, or foolhardy, person who sought to sever it.

New route (N)210 - proposed operation from Brent Cross Shopping Centre/Golders Green Station to Moorgate, Finsbury Square. Route 328 - possible extension to Battersea Bridge/Battersea Park Road in connection with the Northern Line extension bus enhancements. Please note these changes have not yet been finalised, so information may not be 100% accurate. Surely to enhance bus links to Battersea for the Northern Line extension, there should be bus links from the south and places with poor rail connectivity to connect to the Northern Line. I fail to see why people in Maida Hill/Notting Hill/Earl's Court/Chelsea would want to sit on a bus to Battersea to reach the Northern Line when instead it'd be faster to reach Battersea by tube/rail. It is utterly illogical to go to Battersea to reach the Northern Line if you live along the 328.

Said this before but a 24 short extension to Battersea would be great IMO but then you'll get some people saying but it shouldn't happen because it's the oldest unchanged route. Personally I don't think we should look in the past we need to look in the future ok it's great history for the 24 but time moves on.

I can only look into these route by route so it would be tricky to know what other plans there are around Battersea/Nine Elms. I do agree through a direct link with the new Northern Line station would not be the most useful of things. We shall have to see what the final proposals look like, not forgetting that they are still a while away and can change at any time... this is TfL after all!

I shall say no more Fingers crossed that doesn't happen - would rather they resurrect the P5's proposal of extending it to Nine Elms (which won't happen) and then if really warranted, extend that to Battersea Bridge instead. The P5 is receiving a capacity increase when it gets it's new 10.7m electric single deckers & wouldn't be overwhelmed due to assistance from the 44 & 344.

Probably very important too, as Kilburn to GG is not easily accessible by tube. A lengthy trip to Waterloo and an even lengthier trip from there to GG is one of few journeys where the bus is far more attractive than the tube.

For added background, here's a 2013 report on
It's somewhat out of date now, but says this...
"Nine Elms Lane Corridor: although bus demand will decrease in the eastbound direction to the west of the new station at Battersea Power Station as people will be using the new NLE station, extra capacity will be required further along the corridor up to Vauxhall. Wandsworth Road corridor: demand between Nine Elms Station and Vauxhall Station will significantly decrease as a result of the introduction of the NLE. However this is only for a short section and extra capacity will still be required further south to the new Nine Elms Lane Station. Queenstown Road and Albert Embankment: both corridors will require extra capacity.
Vauxhall Bridge: No significant change in demand is forecast. However if the demand actually increases on this corridor, the capacity released on route 87 on Wandsworth Road should cater for it"
The 328 is not mentioned.

As far as I'm concerned the 436 and 452 solved with potential issues.

Very true, but TfL seem to be doing lots of things I would find unimaginable previously. I wouldn't bet against the 328 being curtailed to West Hampstead. The 328s do seem less busy in West Hampstead than they used to be, and TfL will wheel out the Hopper ticket argument that you can still get from Kilburn to Golders Green, you'll just need to change buses which can be done at no extra cost!!!
Hopefully no such things will happen though.

Wouldn't it be better to cut the 139 back to West Hampstead? It could possibly be worked from KC when Metroline take it back with driver changeovers at Baker Street?

I'm surprised the 139 hasn't been cut back yet. The fact that the 328 coped fine between west Hampstead and GG plus the 13 (82) maintains the link to Baker Street. Of course links to Oxo and Trafalgar Square would be lost but I think the 13 and 139 are similar from GG whereas cutting the 318 breaks to useful links to Kilburn and NHG.

The 139 will have a higher PVR than there 214 so the full allocation won’t fit in there. Also I might be wrong but I seem to recall because of lack of space at KC, they were parking some buses outside of KC on the street.
