I hope Arriva London get some of the E400's on Voith (which will be same drivetrain as the current DWs) seeing as their preferred StreetDeck will be late to the party with no London spec till next autumn.. I'm sure ADL can drop a Daimler engine in there if they are keen to do so... the red looks okay Totally with you on the new E400 but that is where the similarities end I'm affraid. Volvo B5TL for me, I am interested in seeing the Streetdeck with a daimler engine though but on ZF. Reason I say that is due to alot of bus services being slow these days I cannot take the drone of a voith gearbox. I like voith gearboxes when vehicles are thrashed. You would like the Daimler as it sounds a bit like a mixture of a B5LH and DB250 Euro3 (best way I can describe it) and the last driver of DW411 was quite heavy with the old right foot... and you can be sure the Arriva Northeast and Yorkshire drivers will be thrashing the hell out of them when they arrive... As for London, I'm happy with an E400 on Voith if Arriva London choose to rejoin the tenders process or replace knackered junk on the 253 and 176 stock in the near future

I'm not sure whether I like this bus or not... It does look quite nice but the rear window doesn't look nice at all and I can't decide if I like it better than the current E200 or not. I guess I'll have to wait until I see it in person. Which is unusual for me because so far my predicitons regarding whether I like a bus or not before I see the real thing have all been accurate (Gemini 3, E400 MMC and others).

Just spotted this on the M3 in Sunbury. Picture is awful quality because it's from my dash cam (which seemingly doesn't like two vehicles driving in the opposite direction at speed!) - it looks rather nice in person, even if I did only see it for a split second.

Routeone reports that the first production E200MMC has gone to National Express West Midlands. Won't be too long before they start making an appearance in London then.

It might just be me but the first thing I thought when I saw the photo of it, was it looks almost like a Volvo 7900

Going slightly off topic here is another look alike right down to the shape of the windscreen and the moulding containing the blind box: Mercedes O405:

Finally, had my first ride on an Enviro200MMC last weekend.
It feels totally different to the Enviro200 Mk1 and the Dart. Even though the dimensions are the about the same it has more of a "big bus" feel to it - I suppose a more substantial, chunky and solid impression would be a good way to describe it.
I was impressed by the ride, a lot smoother and with much better damping. I notice that the MMC has four rear air bags as opposed to two found on both the E200Mk1 and Dart which probably explains the difference. Not as smooth as a heavy duty bus like a Citaro but at the same time doesn't suffer from the the front end "float" you get on the Citaro.
The main central passenger cabin is largely the same as a facelifted Enviro200 Mk1 with the main differences at either end. I like the rear wrap around window which curves up to meet the roof. No longer is the back row a dark and dingy area, but a nice airy place to sit. It'll probably cost a lot more to replace than a flat pane of glass but it is a nice feature nonetheless.
The front has a revised iBus bulk head and entrance ceiling. These are large, chunky pieces of moulding which darkens the entrance area and makes it feel more claustrophobic - far less airy and bright than a Pointer or E200 Mk1.
Two things I didn't like about the MMC. The use of very glossy reflective interior mouldings - makes the interior feel cheap like its made of the same cheap plastic tat you get in £1 shops. Matt finish trim, to me, doesn't look as cheap. On the other hand a smooth glossy finish is easier to clean than one that has a texture I suppose.
The triangular diagonal window trim for the rear two corner seats (also with a high gloss finish) takes up some elbow room and isn't comfortable to lean on either because of the angle it is set at. A simple rectangular window would have been nicer.
The bus I rode on had no squeeks or rattles but given it was only a few weeks old that is to be expected. Hopefully it won't creak as much as the E400MMC as it ages.
Overall, I was rather impressed, more so than when the E200 Mk1 was launched. It rides very nicely and the "big bus" solid feel is a step in the right direction.
Any other opinions on the E200MMC?

Very nice buses having finally ridden one. Defiantly up there with the Citaro in terms of build quality. Rides down Stanley Road, Teddington (where Cab doors have opened due to extreme rattling) Only poor point is the single seat near the wheelchair area. It is difficult to sit there because of the intrusive pole.
