Can't remember a full consultation to add a couple of bus stops (which is the only change on 27), so has to be something bigger, my hunch is it an excuse to introduce nb4ls (especially now homes for another 200 are needed). Would also allow LU to cascade out its 51reg Tridents in a years time. For the 70 seems logical, but what is stop N for as it seems very close to others.

I think the current stop set up on the 27 is ludicrous given the lack of convenient interchange at Gunnersbury. Other routes stop outside the station while the 27 doesn't really serve it at all. The extra stops are welcome but still not close enough to the station even recognising the inevitable issues with bus stops close to traffic light controlled junctions. M and N are existing stops served by the 440. Perhaps they are just a historical hangover and TfL aren't minded to rationalise them? I suppose we'll see about a NB4L conversion. I hadn't considered that as a possibility.

The 27 would still be serving the same bus stand. I presume sufficient space was allowed for on the turning circle for LT's but isn't the left turn from high street Kensington into Church street a bit tight ? The road is quite narrow there.

The results for the consultation are in... TfL have decided to proceed with the proposals from 9 May 2015. One of the main issues raised was "Convert route 70 to double deck buses" TfL replied "At present double-decks are not required; however we will continue to monitor bus loadings in case this changes." So no DD for the 70 through this scheme. To see the Full consultation report click hereTo see the main issues raised click link here ( Click here for the main consultation page)

It is quite telling to see how many alternative ideas have been rejected including putting double decks on the route. This is a tiny glimmer of hope that if the 70's extension does well that it might be extended through to Chiswick.

Just one point, isn't there a height restriction on the link road between CBP and Bollo Lane? If the decision is made to convert the 70 to DD then they'd have to modify the link road onto Bollo Lane. (assuming that there is a low bridge on the link road.)

(assuming that there is a low bridge on the link road.) As far as I know, the bridge is (just) tall enough for double deckers. In any case, I'm really happy as a local, as it means I get a ruddy link to Acton that isn't boneshaking (reference to SPs) full of kids from my own school annoying me (well, I can't control what my school does)! And this also means that the 27 is actually useful for Gunnersbury Station for once (nearly - if it stopped on the High Road, it'd be better, but it's already good compared to no southern stop). Now for the 70 to get enough custom for it to be extended further to Chiswick High Road (please Turnham Green Church, but Power Road would do enough). I'll be using it for a start! Whoever said to extend the H40 to CBP must've thought we were in 2001 or something like that! Looking forward to taking three buses from school, when it's quicker than the E3 direct (in reality)!

Someone also suggested to add an Night Service to the 415 lol You'd be surprised as that could have some demand. I've had to do an Old Kent Road to Brixton journey as Iceland took us to a run down social club as a works party off Ilderton Road
