Used the jubilee line today morning - there was a 6 minute gap in service at Canary Wharf westbound. At 08:30 am. Luckily I got into the one before that gap - but a 6 minute gap is huge, that too bang in the middle of rush hour If I remember correctly, that gap used to be 4 minutes long with the Jubilee Line train i caught waiting at Canning Town for two mins and then pressing on. The slow movement of the service is the reason i stopped using the line as it would case late arrival to Canada Water to catch my connecting train.

Ya I have seen that 5-6 min gap on the weekend at times (and to be honest while the train is ok till Canary Wharf, it gets completely jam-packed by Canada Water - with people being left behind subsequently .... so weekday rush hour must have been insane

Just to add as I never saw it in the article but London Underground were in full support of him stopping his train to unveil his green flag which I think is absolutely superb There were indeed. Mind you, imagine reactions from the public and the union if they weren't.

Two Northern Line trains are reported at the Piccadilly Line's Northfields depot for brake tests along nearby test track facilities. Although it's relatively standard for stocks from other lines to be brought there the two 95 stocks are part of the overall plan to increase maximum speed along parts of the Northern Line up to 60 miles per hour.

SUnday afternoon - was on board the DLR to Lewisham when it was curtailed to Crossharbour due to a faulty train ahead (our train was held on the steep slope heading up to Canary Wharf as the train ahead was stuck. One of the rare times when a train gets curtailed to Mudchute and that Platform 1 on the side gets used!
This is especially advantageous if a train is ever turned during peak hours. I once had an empty train all to myself at 08:30am heading to Bank!

However, all three platforms can be used at Mudchute to turn a train back towards Canary Wharf

The Met had it’s only two S7+1s running together today, at least on the Uxbridge branch. 21327/328 and 21323/324 running as T436 and T437 respectively.

A couple of quick questions:
- I am on a Lewisham bound dlr from bank. Just heard a recorded “mind the gap please” in a male voice after the usual announcement. I am dead sure I havnt heard this previously. When did this start? - I had seen (a few months back) a dlr coach where there was a plaque saying “used in 2012 for carrying the Olympic flame”. Unfortunately I couldn’t take a photograph or see the fleet number. Very long shot but does someone know where I can hopefully see it again? Would love to take a photo ... and hopefully ride in it as well
Thanks!

I'm pretty sure out resident DLR spokesperson ThinLizzy will know

Sorry, off topic and I can't answer your questions, but on the subject of the Olympic flame I took an early morning stroll from my home in Penzance, Cornwall on the Saturday it started its journey through England and witnessed the helicopter from RNAS Culdrose transporting it over to Land's End to commence its long journey to Stratford. Presumably because a flame was not allowed in the helicopter it was being carried some way underneath the helicopter: it was flying low and slow so I was able to get a good sneak preview, as it were. Unfortunately, walking my dog and not expecting this I was unable to take photos. A few hours later I, in common with hundreds of others, saw it again for a few seconds as it passed within feet of us.

Can't find the DLR one yet but here's when the Flame had a spin on a D Stock! www.olympic.org/news/olympic-flame-takes-a-ride-on-london-undergroundIt was the *Paralympic* Flame that went on the DLR on 24 August 2012. Aneurin Wood carried it - can't find a pic of the train though. www.theguardian.com/sport/gallery/2012/aug/24/paralympic-torch-london-picturesAnd here's the notice on the DLR train! Still no fleet number! www.flickr.com/photos/bloophoenix/13941590805/in/photostream/ Photo credit to Katy.

I'm pretty sure out resident DLR spokesperson ThinLizzy will know The Mind The Gap announcements were introduced yesterday, I've only heard them on B2007 stock when I've been travelling around the system. I forget the number of the unit that carried the Paralympic torch was vehicle, I think it was unit 149. The units aren't in any fixed formations, and operate on all routes from both depots so sadly it's pot luck. Best place to maybe see the vehicle is to hang around Poplar and Westferry for an hour as you'll see all units on the Tower Gateway, Bank and Stratford routed

Had a long wait (8mins in total) at Finchley Road on the north/westbound Jubilee this morning due to a faulty in train camera. The call was that we were waiting for a manual despatch.
I have had this problem a fair few times now at Finchley Road and always been sat for at least 5mins screwing up the service. Interestingly this only seems to have become an issue since the new "super-duper" timetable came into effect. It's not like the drivers have a problem with it or anything ...
