I was on the Central Line today and noticed on the train it had a new floor installed. Sorry for the poor photo as it was the height of rush hour. Attachment Deleted

The LTMs 1938 tube stock was out on [mainly] the sub surface lines today. A selection of pictures from the railtour can be seen on my Flickr for anyone who's interested.

As many of us have observed when Jubilee line trains are pulling away it makes that loud hum before that 'Formula 1 car' sound. When slowing down to stop however there are times when it doesn't make that hum but is instead silent. I often wonder why sometimes it makes that noise and other times it doesn't. I'm guessing it depends on the rate of deceleration?

Due to the signal failure on the Jubilee which had knocked out services between Wembley Park/Willesden Green and Waterloo, Metropolitan line services to/from Uxbridge were additionally calling at Willesden Green.
It was a very unusual feeling to alight/board on the outer WG platforms!
EDIT: just after I posted this TfL announced that the Metropolitan line is now running with severe delays owing to a signal failure at King's Cross. The Jubilee is still operating with delays. A very eventful 24hrs for these two lines.

I remember the last time I was on a Met line train that 'stopped' at Willesden Green, due to works taking place on the Jubilee Line. We pulled into Finchey Road, driver over the PA announces 'All stations Metropolitan Line train to Uxbridge, calling additionally at Willesden Green' Off we go, our A Stock comes steaming under the road bridge and about 1/3 of the way along the Willesden Green platform, he slams the anchors on, everyone lurches forwards, he most probabily thinks in his head 'oh sh@t, not gonna make it' knocks the brakes off, everyone now starts lurching backwards and we end up continuing as usual to Wembley Park, where upon arrival our driver gets a bit of a ribbin of some fellow colleagues! How I miss the A Stock! Almost 7 years on, the Met just isn't the same anymore!

The LTM's 1938 was out again today working two trips from Northfields to Upminster and Upminster to Acton Town via Liverpool St, Baker St, Harrow and Rayners Lane. And is seen passing West Ham. Meanwhile around a similar time the first S-Stock operated in passenger service under CBTC signalling between Latimer Road and Hammersmith.

Not an observation per se but just to say that the station car park at Blackhorse Road is now closed. Although the site is not due to see work start on new housing for another year there were already diggers on site this morning removing equipment. Almost the entire site is now surrounded by other housing developments. A former industrial estate and old factory have been flattened to create horrendous, cheap looking but no doubt ridiculously costly "flats". Even a sliver of land formerly occupied by a garage and car wash between the Barking - Gospel Oak alignment and Ferry Lane has two tower cranes on it. I suspect it will have been far better as a garage.

Hopefully, someone saves the two lampposts in the station car park which are relics and probably the last of their kind anywhere having dated from the 50's or 60's.

I suspect the diggers may have chopped them down yesterday. Anything vertical seemed to be being attacked with relish. I did take some photos of the car park yesterday as a record shot of what the place looked like before it disappears forever.

A massive shame - I believe the ones at Haywards Heath by the station were saved a few years ago as Google Maps showed that the concrete columns were still standing at that time but the brackets & lights had gone - the whole area has been redeveloped since.

Not quite sure if this is just a coincidence or if the case on all trains, but the two Central Line trains I've had this week both fully had their old announcements with Emma Clarke are Liverpool St, Bank and Stratford and not the newer versions which contain all the updated interchanges.

Jubilee Line currently suspended between Finchley Road and Waterloo due to a track fault at Bond Street.
