TfL have launched the consultation on extending the most useless bus service in the whole of London (trademark - various Bus Forum members ) so it becomes less useless. consultations.tfl.gov.uk/buses/route-415

The N343 has been withdrawn as well! . I nominate the 129 for a 24 Hour Service as well

I agree with the 129 gaining a 24 hour service as it would help relieve other routes in the area and 168 should have a 24 hour service.

However the consultation says it is the current map so I went to the Bus Maps page and brought up the E&C spider map and hey presto it includes the night 172 and night 415 and has done since May 2014. Oh dear another example of poor proof reading.

I thought this was already set in stone? I'm sure a positive response from the consultation will seal the 415's fate! It is a good plan, creating a link between the Old Kent Road and Brixton, but I also think previous ideas suggested about merging the 415 and 432 into a new super-415 were good too. Oh well, at least we'll being seeing less 415 bashing either way ;D

Have to admit though, I didn't see the 24 hour part coming. I can see it being used from Old Kent Road to Brixton during the night.

It's shown on a current spider map which has been taken forward into the consultation material but there are clearly no plans for a night service as it is not mentioned anywhere on the consultation page. I'm sure TfL would be boasting about it / asking questions about it if it was a proposal.

Consultations are just PR exercises in most cases. TfL will implement the changes if they want to and their decision on this seems adamant.

The new round the corner link will be useful although it could just as easily be provided by the 155 or 333 so it still doesn't justify the 415, I assumed the idea of an N415 was a joke?

The 415 extension does now justify it existence - it will have some unique links such as Kennington to Old Kent Road, Oval to Old Kent Road, Brixton to Old Kent Road & Tulse Hill to Old Kent Road. No other route has ever provided those links which are very useful - Brixton does not have massive retail out of town outlets like Toys R' Us and PC World with the next nearest retail park of that kind being Colliers Wood & Valley Park.
