TfL have opened a consultation today to change the route of the 462 which currently operates between Ilford and Hainault, The Lowe. Following a request from the London Borough of Redbridge, TfL have suggested the 462 from Fullwell Cross to go via Forest Road, Elmbridge Road, The Lowe, Manford Way, Manor Road, Fencepiece Road, Limes Avenue and Copperfield to a new terminus at the southern end of the Limes Farm Estate. This would mean that Route 462 would no longer serve Fencepiece Road between Fullwell Cross and Limes Avenue. I would suggest 1 bus is added to the 167 and the 462 to help with extra demand, that should come from these proposals. I like this prososal and I hope they Go-Ahead For more details including stop locations view the consultation websiteAttachment Deleted Exsiting Route Alignment Attachment DeletedProposed Route Alignment

I quite like the idea of routes serving Forest Road which for years has been unserved. However, it does seem a long way round for passengers who normally travel from Limes Farm to Barkingside.

Looks to be broadly sensible although I am surprised that there is a business case given broken links and extended journey times for some passengers. While serving Fairlop is a good idea and long awaited I doubt the demand is going to be overwhelming although there will be some.
I agree with the earlier comment that the 167 might need a boost. It loads very well a lot of the time and in my limited rides on the route that section between Barkingside and Chigwell can be busy and buses well loaded. Removing the 462 may make things very difficult in the peak even though there's a 667 school route.

I assume the budget will include blind inserts for the most reliable company for providing correct blinds?

A very low bridge between Loughton and Chigwell on Roding Road. The 667 avoids it because it doesn't reach Loughton and turns to West Hatch School after Chigwell Station.

I see TfL are months late on this proposal. It was supposed to be introduced in Spring 2015 and it's now Summer 2015 and there isn't even an update on the consultation never mind a conclusion as to whether the change can proceed and that Redbridge Council are content with the new stop locations and will fund the changes.

The consultation report will be very interesting for this small Redbridge route. It will be interesting to see which way residents of Limes Farm swing. I feel it's going to be negative because interchange to other routes will be difficult, the 462 is long winded as it is these changes might make it longer for them. I'm hoping these changes do not get shelved like the proposed 306, think this routing could be beneficial to tube passengers who would find it easier to use Fairlop station.

Small update on this consultation. A change there from "Spring 2015" as the introduction date!

Small update on this consultation. A change there from "Spring 2015" as the introduction date! Pleased to see this update especially as I emailed the consultation team on the 28th, to find what was happening with the changes. May do the same closer to the 12th of August for the Night Bus consultation, see what happening there.

The results are in. A decision has been to proceed with the propsals to re-route the 462. The changes will take place from Saturday 9th January 2016.Decent levels of support for the re-routing. Quite a few concerns on the frequency/ capacity of the 167, I think I agree with. I look forward to riding along past Fairlop Waters and under Fairlop Station in January! Consultation Report / Response to issues raised / Consultation Page

Consultation Report / Response to issues raised / Consultation Page I rather suspect the 167 will be problematic at times. It already loads remarkably well for what looks like a "back of beyond" boring route. Not sure I'd want to be trying to get on it at peak times to get to Gants Hill from the Chigwell / Limes Farm bit of the route. Even the little 462 can be pretty busy - varies a bit but plenty of people use it. Interesting that people will be allowed to remain on the 462 across Limes Farm to allow "round the estate" journeys.

Little over a fortnight until these route changes are due to take place. Not seen any online map or iBus changes. Further push back maybe ?
