Another curtailment is the Kennington Church turn for 415 (and probably other Brixton Road routes), which makes you serve Clapham Road, the full length of both Vassall Road and Caldwell Street then in/out of stand then up Camberwell Church Street then back down Brixton Road on the otherside. Or the otherway round, vice versa. Do you mean Camberwell New Road rather than Camberwell Church Street? Yeah, lol, common mistakes

The 344 turn at Monument takes a complicated figure 8 route that passes through Bank twice I think. It is shown on the duty cards.

I believe that for the 406/418, buses terminating at Surbiton (from Epsom) stops outside Hollyfield School on Surbiton Hill Road to kick passengers off, then has to travel OOS towards Kingston and turn at College Roundabout (just on the end of Penrhyn Road). One time I saw a bus stand outside Kingston Crown Court, which is the stop just before the roundabout. Another time I saw a bus stand on Surbiton Road (just before the Maplehurst Close stop). Quite long winded, I think. The service may as well continue to Kingston Crown Court so the buses can just stand there at all times. They can call the turn 'Kingston, College Roundabout' or 'Kingston, Penryhn Road' or something. I think they use the same as Kingston bound buses terminating in Surbiton, Claremont Road (basically a 3 sided loop involving: Surbiton Crescent, Surbiton Road and Maple Road. Another long one is the 65 turn at Ham, goes via Dukes Avenue, Dysart Avenue, Lammas Road, Beaufort Road, Dukes Avenue (same loop route K5 takes). In practice some drivers just U turn on the fire station forecourt if they haven't got time to stand.

This is because of the risk of staff being attacked while they go to / from changeover points and garages / depots. I know you can sort of impute some level of detail from looking at the vehicle schedules but I understand TfL have flat refused to issue any duty / roster information for the rail services they control. And yes drivers don't carry cash these days but that doesn't stop lunatics kicking the living daylights out of people or chucking acid on people for no reason. Asking for an *old* duty card may be deemed OK but current ones are most likely a no-no.

The 'official' Bexley turn on the 269 is to drop off at the Blue Anchor (bottom of Arbuthnot Lane), go all the way up to the A2 roundabout, and back down, by which time the bus could easily have reached Bexleyheath Library (the next curtailment point) where passengers are at least being dropped off close to the town centre.

Now, maybe not the most long-winded curtailment - but as this thread is the most recent on curtailments I'll put it here - here is live action of the aftermath of a Stukeley Road turn, for the amusement of members but particularly enviroPBDouble post coming due to size restrictions on the pictures....... And here is a pic of the 104 going down Upton Park Road to commence it's working in Green Street. These pics are not my own, sent to me by an observant niece who snapped them quickly and sent to me by Whatsapp......but it took ages for me to remember and post on the forum Like I say, not my own work, copyright goes to Priya, the princess of Upton Park, who worked as a CA with T.R. EDIT: I can't believe I posted the first bit back in 2015 , how time flies.......

Hahaha I've forgotten myself to mention this! For about 8 weeks starting this month, there are gasworks on the approach to Green Street from Plashet Road. Buses towards Stratford are following the Stukeley Road turn to line of route; towards Upton Park via Stukely Rpad & Upton Park Road as you've said. The utility works has happened before, but in the past routes 104 and 238 had a lengthy detour via Forest Gate to get back to Upton Park. Now that's long winded!!

Ended up caught in this on the first day. The bus announced the diversion and the next thing we knew we were down a side road. When we emerged A lot of cars in the traffic saw the bus coming out and must have thought "nope not today" and U turned it out of there.

Finally got this turn today, as we can't really do a BX library anymore because the road is shut and I was LATE, I wasn't entirely sure where I was going as I'd only heard from another driver just go straight and then you come to a roundabout and come back on yourself, but I thought I'd gone wrong or something because it really is a bit out of the way
