The 'official' Bexley turn on the 269 is to drop off at the Blue Anchor (bottom of Arbuthnot Lane), go all the way up to the A2 roundabout, and back down, by which time the bus could easily have reached Bexleyheath Library (the next curtailment point) where passengers are at least being dropped off close to the town centre. Finally got this turn today, as we can't really do a BX library anymore because the road is shut and I was LATE, I wasn't entirely sure where I was going as I'd only heard from another driver just go straight and then you come to a roundabout and come back on yourself, but I thought I'd gone wrong or something because it really is a bit out of the way It used to be that you dropped off at Bexley War Memorial, turned right down the high street, left at the mini roundabout and then round the big roundabout at the A2. Quite long winded again.

Quite long winded again. That explains why that bus stand is at the top of Hurst Road then. It would actually be quicker to turn left and use Parkhurst Road which is a Triangular Roundabout, or even use North Cray Road which what the 492 & B12 uses and involves a right at Hurst Road and ahead at the mini roundabout.

Drivers have been known to do that but a notice went up a while back saying categorically we were not to do it. There are no parking restrictions round that triangle so it's often chocca block with cars making the turn impossible.

There are no parking restrictions round that triangle so it's often chocca block with cars making the turn impossible. There was a brief period when using that triangle was permitted. I know that because I did it but oh it was tight! I decided then I wouldn't do that again if I got a Bexley turn. Last time I got a Bexley I used the Black Prince roundabout to turn around. I find it bizarre that the official turn is to go up past the Anchor. That's not a Bexley turn - that's Blendon!
