There will be no bus service on Sundays between the Isle of Sheppey and the mainland. They do still have the train service of course, but of course bus season ticket holders will have to spend more money on that.
I tried out the 403 on Saturday. I went on a Arriva Kent & Surrey journey as well, as those ones have the DDs (the Arriva Kent Thameside journeys are single deckers). I was a little annoyed though, as I got a dreadful knackered Enviro200, for one hours journey! However, the maximum number of passengers on my journey (12.05 from Swanley to Tonbridge) was 8. The other journeys I saw were single deckers, but they were decent Wright Pulsar-bodied single deckers (one of them the lone Sapphire branded one).

I wondering why Arriva is going to withdrawn route 32,334 (sun only), 403, 505. What is Arriva playing about? Is Arriva looking for the way to get rid of unprofit route? Is this become more like Crawley area in the past?.
Trying to find out who take over route 32 redhill to guildsford.

If people aren't using the buses and the routes aren't making a profit then they'll be shut down. Arriva have plenty of form for doing this where they face little competition. Some of the routes may be tendered but I suspect most won't be and with councils losing funding every year then slowly but surely marginal bus routes will be wiped from the face of the earth. The 32 is broadly paralleled by a rail service and that won't have helped matters. The last few years has seen a massive loss of bus services across the country but the government have said "it's the councils' responsibility" while conveniently forgetting that it is Government that has willfully reduced funding while dumping more and more health and social care responsibilities on councils while not transferring adequate funding. That just worsens the overall funding position. Give it about 3-4 years and we will have a nationwide emergency on our hands with councils being unable to meet their statutory obligations never mind funding bus routes which is not a mandatory obligation (it's discretionary hence why some councils like Luton have stopped subsidising any bus service).

My understanding (and I am open to correction) is that Surrey County Council have an involvement in funding and specification of the 32 during the week as well as the Guildford - Strood Green Sunday service, so it isn't as simple as Arriva dropping the ball and walking away down the A25.

I thought the Sapphire buses at Northfleet were exclusively for the 480/490? From my observations route 499 branded E200's are the norm which means the 499 gets a few old Darts thrown in which they don't want to risk on a long route like the 403.

I thought the Sapphire buses at Northfleet were exclusively for the 480/490? They are. However, the Wright Pulsar Sapphire vehicle is a 'spare', so can appear on other routes if there is a vehicle shortage, but should mainly be on the 480/490. I was surprised it was on the 403 though, considering how tight the route can be.

I assume they are buses displaced from the Sapphire 101 route which has had six new buses to replace six refurbished buses? The 480/490 would seem ideal for double deckers?

One of them is one of the original batch for the 101 (58 reg) - I presume the other is also a 58 reg example from that batch?

Arriva seem to be using the spare Sapphire buses (6450/3) mainly on the Bluewater to Medway Towns routes 700/1. I wonder why Arriva upgraded these buses to Sapphire standard last August only to now remove them from Sapphire route 101? Maybe they have another Sapphire conversion planned? The two at Northfleet (6471/2) on the 480/490 were originally on Shires route 280 but apparently they didn't comply with the Oxford LEZ.
