For me, 1x London 55/06 reg ZF Volvo B7TL 1x ex London ZF Volvo Olympian 1x V-KGW Dennis Trident I'd go for the B7TL at this moment in time as it would be most likely to earn its keep. Olympian still being considered? 🤣

I'd love to go for one of Sutton's three VE class B9TLs, though wouldn't be suprised if one of them actually does go for preservation post Go-Ahead.

Guess I never stopped being a ZF Ecomat fan Just read the thread from the start, really interesting to see which buses were nominated and that quite a few are now privately owned!

I read through the whole thread today out of interest (and boredom ). Nice to see quite a few of these have come true

I am sure I have seen a ELC Pyoneer preserved. But as for the NC Palatine bodied ones, I doubt it. The preserved Pyoneer (East Lancs names are always spelt funny!) is London Traveller R1LTB. It was in London for a grand total of 2 years before heading to Rodgers, who had a B10M Pyoneer which was once a coach. That was recently sold! I remember Grey Green had some rebodied B10Ms, do any of those survive? I hated those Grey-Green re-bodied Volvo's. The single deck ones that were on the 20 and 179; ugly as sin. The vomitastic ones that were the double deck coach sawn-off chassis hated them with a passion. They got beaten 100's of times with the ugly stick.

I like the fact they are unique also being on Voith gearboxes as well. Surprised none are in the Commercial fleet. I would have a Euro3 DB250 (DLPs unique to Enfield and Tottenham when delivered) 2007 Voith MM (MCV Evolution) from when Metroline had them on the 232 / 251 DW411, the forerunner to the Streetdecks ECW bodied Leyland Atlantean (these used to be on the 65 with Armchair) Scania engined Routemaster (on 8 with Stagecoach) Voith boxed Volvo Ailsa (A103SUU?) Bristol VR (remember these from Southern Vectis on the Isle of Wight) VDL SB200 from Arriva And a Renault engined Wright single decker (I remember from cramped rides home from school on the E3 ) complete with flipdot display at rear

Now I know this thread is from 7 years ago (wow!!), but hey, might as well reply!
First off, ex Stagecoach London 34332 - Y332 FJN, my former school bus (in Hertfordshire not London though!). Sadly she was scrapped 5 years ago due to engine failure though. I still remember the amazing whiny gearbox today! I also wanted SLD238 after I heard that was gone but before I could purchase it, it re-entered service and then caught fire.
Secondly, ex GHA Coaches and Red Rose Travel FJ06 URR. My favourite Dart in Red Eagle (Herts)' fleet. She went to auction on Ebay in December 2021, where in the last 30seconds I was outbid by £5. She was a beast and is now SORN, god knows what happened to her.
Thirdly, ex Lothian and Ipswich Buses SN53 AVK. Absolute beast of a Super Pointer with a mega-loud Voith box. Found out last week that she was withdrawn without notice and sold to one of my so called 'enemies', who got it seized off him for driving it uninsured at midnight. Yet again, I was distraught.
Now, I see ex London United SN51 TCJ as a possibility. Not too sure yet though in all honesty. Really thinking about whether it'd be a good fit or not.
Anyways, yeah, they're the buses I'd have liked to be purchased. Thanks for reading!
