Other closed garages I can think of are PR, AP, CF and FY. I underatand the small bus station at North Finchley may be on the site of FY.
The story of AK is one of the more wasteful in London history. It was closed in 1984, demolished for rebuilding, reopened in 1987 and closed again in 1992, still in LBL ownership. So much for the government at the time taking control of London Transport from the GLC as operating costs were allegedly so high in GLC days!
Ash Grove always still had [AG] for LT operations and it got back that code when East Thames Buses started up there. Some of the garage was then later rented out to CT Plus and they were given the [HK] code for their operations with a portacabin near the front. When Arriva went back there for the 38 bendy bus to rent in 2005, they never used the original [AG] offices upstairs and used the engineering block offices on ground level at the back. This was then given the code [AE] by TfL.
I guess if they ever were to operate again from there the [AG] code could be resurrected.
