Two questions here. 1) Why would blinds be locked to the 178? Surely they’re perfectly okay to use on the 321. And why would blinds be locked in the first place and how is it done? Didn’t even know that was a thing. 2) Why have the 178 buses got NX blinds? It’s going to be moving to MG soon (or so we thought) so I would have thought it would have had MG blinds in preparation as it’s supposedly only temporary, and that’s the reason I thought the 178 buses have been strictly locked to the route since it started at NX. Is it still coming to MG? I heard it was coming in April, then I heard it wasn't coming at all? Yeah I’m not sure either, hence me saying or so we thought. It was definitely originally meant to be temporary but like you said I have no idea if it’ll now be it’s permanent home Re the blind locking, if 6 Es have had blinds locked because of dodgy blinds then that batch of blinds must be really poor quality!!

That's probably not the reason why they were locked but just saying that is what it's often done for.

Are the blinds on the 227 Citaros locked? I have only ever seen the blind change to 61 on one and they always have 227 showing when they are out of service. If they are locked, why would they do this?

I'd hazard a guess that the blinds were locked to ensure there were sufficent buses for the route, when it first started the EHs had not been reblinded, that commenced soon after, I believe only one batch have been reblinded, also not all the 321 WVLs have been reblinded either. Apart from Rail Work I don't believe any of the 178 Buses except WVL275 have wandered from the route to other NX routes yet.

8502 still has no rear blind (on 290) That's been like that for a full year now! I think but not sure that it has a smaller than normal blind box at the rear, I always noticed it was smaller whenever I saw it out on the 407

Refurbished EN48 on route 51 with the destination blind showing blank, believe it had been curtailed to Woolwich Covered Market

Refurbished EN48 on route 51 with the destination blind showing blank, believe it had been curtailed to Woolwich Covered Market Interesting you say that. I saw EN46 earlier displaying “Orpington, Perry Hall Road” in old style blind spec lowercase for Perry Hall Road. If anyone has seen 10196 it displays Orpington, PERRY HALL ROAD. I think EX Abellio EN41-EN48 have old blinds with 51 inserts. Orpington Station & Woolwich on those ENs are in the new spec.

25314 on the 396 with the front blinds displaying Barking, London Road instead of Ilford Broadway or King George Hospital. Saw it yesterday on the 396 apparently going Chadwell Heath. Then after it got subbed at Ilford Broadway its blindest kept scrolling non stop.
