TfL has launched a consultation today on the diversion of Route 25 over Bow flyover. 25 consultation pageSource: TfL The route would no longer serve the bus stops on the slips roads (P, W & M). Instead serving the flyover in both directions (as they currently do). Alongside these changes: Also note the omission of the 108 whilst it doesn't serve stop M (which won't exist for much longer) it still serves stops P & W. Just speculating here but maybe it will actually be diverted via Danes Yard and the Three Mills Development... The reasoning for the changes is clearly down to TfLs Road Modernisation works and the effect this is having being able to run a reliable service on the 25. The consultation closes on Friday 16 October EDIT: The page is currently unavailable when I've used the link above. I also tried to open it via the consultation hub however it still doesn't open. Hopefully it should open again later today.

Best Idea ever, even when on diversion via the Flyover it should have remained like that.

It's working again! I like this idea, I see they are adding even more journeys during the peak!

That's when the contract for the route is renewed, right? Or did it get an extension? I can't remember.

It's a no brainer, hopefully it goes ahead. Those two bus stops are hardly used anyway.

And yes of course it's all to do with reliability and nothing at all to do with the cost of running those buses to Oxford Circus, stand space at Oxford Circus or reducing the number of buses in Oxofrd Street itself. I do wish they'd give proper explanations rather than half true ones. Its also rather a bonkers explanation as both Holborn and St Giles are beyond City Thameslink. Even if an easy reversing point is no longer available since Holborn Circus is no longer a roundabout doesn't explain why buses cant turn at King Edward Street

Why would that be a blow that needs to be softened? Obviously the only people that will object to this change will be those who use the stops that will be removed.

Why would that be a blow that needs to be softened? In exchange for hot, low capacity lumps, route 25 users can look forward to a 1-2 minute reduction in journey times.. Which is fair IMO.

Let's not squabble about the LTs on this thread as well - I'm not sure I could plough through all that again.
I am sure the estimable Diamond Geezer will have something interesting to say on his blog about this - his entry for July 7th touches on the 25's diversion.

Yes quite, gets a bit pointless people making negative comments about the LT at every opportunity, as far as I'm aware there is nothing to suggest they will be used on the 25 anyway! Seems this change will benefit far more people than it inconveniences so likely to be implemented
