From Buses Mag on Facebook; "Alexander Dennis has released early details of the Enviro400H City, an additional member of the MMC range with styling features specifically for London. The bus will be launched at the NEC at the end of the month. First details in October BUSES, on sale 17 September." Looks very nice!

What should I say about the styling. This looks even better the current E400 mmc and puts the NB4L to the shame. It looks so crazy that it should be in a lambo showroom. Don't know what ADL have been doing over the past 10 years with their old Enviro range but this will definitely get everyone looking.

Don't see the fuss or even why you would need to have another Enviro 400. I also don't like the identical NBfL upstairs front window especially where it joins on to side upstairs window.

I like it. It looks like the double version of the E200MMC with the New Routemaster's bodywork. I think they are following the direction of the New Routemaster with angling a bus specifically for London which is actually a smart thing to do with London leading the way with green transport technology. I wonder how successful this range will be.

Why bother? The standard MMC is perfectly fine. I don't understand this ludicrous obsession with glass sided staircases. I assume this is going to cost more than a standard bus to what gain / benefit? < rolls eyes >

What is the point and I don't like the NBFL esque front upper deck window and glass staircase design.

Interesting take on the Borismaster - hopefully Metroline order this to replace the aging stuff on the E8 Will the glass realistically feature for the staircase in production models? I agree, it does look a lot like a borismaster above the blinds! Looks good though! it may replace T44-65 on the 466 if Arriva retain the contract in 2018

Clever idea, the question is will they then drop a TfL version of the normal e400mmc ?
What I mean is will the standard one get things like a curved staircase to increase seating and only be available with electronic displays which allows a few inches narrower front panel inside allowing front seats to move forward as dont need to get fat rollers in a big display box etc. Therefore end up with provincial spec and new city spec as 2 completely separate models.

T44-65 could still well be used on another contract. They will be 10 by the time 2018 reaches us.

I don't think this bus should be aimed at London it might make more sense to aim it at the rest of the country. Especially in place where they like the NBfL design but don't want three door boarding. That being said maybe this bus is three door design

If you remember after bus number so and so from Wrights other builders are allowed into the market. I think it would be a very brave company that would not leave most of Boris's designs in their product given the high profile of the Borismaster and LT Buses love affair with Wrights

E400 City Lite: Standard MMC with roundel on the front Really can't be bothered if it's more expensieve, but maybe some Metroline Yellow on the handrails
