If the NRMs are Borismasters, then I guess these ones are Dennismasters.

But there is no difference, it is the same Only difference from the rear is the exhaust pipe.

Perhaps it's the yellow outline surrounding the upper deck rear and side windows that gives the illusion of a less 'bulbous' and more angular appearance? Actually those grilles are what makes the E400H City look great, very modern and sleek, much like the MMC. I agree with you regarding the placement of the upper tail lights , it looks more pleasant with them positioned further up just below the upper rear window.

This photo from "London Bus Breh" shows a CT Plus Enviro400 City from a similar angle: www.flickr.com/photos/londonbusbreh1912/27083360283/To me at least the shape doesn't look any different (they are of course the same), maybe the cream stripe on Blackpool Transport's livery helps to break up the wide rear pillars but I wouldn't say the livery has much of an effect. I agree that the rear of Blackpool's buses are neater, though that's just due to those being diesels and not hybrids. One other difference is that Blackpool's batch have an extra opening window on each side of the upper deck.

Still don't like the positioning of the grilles and the upper deck rear lights on the Blackpool ones it looks better to me.

Hopefully the *2/N2, 176 and 188 routes get these lovely 400H City buses.
*The reason why for the 2/N2 should get these because if this route doesn't get LTs then a better alternative for this route in particular. Plus this route is quite a high profile route and I think this route should get some kind of hybrid/new vehicle, well in my opinion anyway.

Regardless, it will have to get hybrids because it enters the ULEZ. Personally, I'd rather standard MMC's were ordered over the City as they look so much better IMO but anything is better than LT's.

Having analysed the differences in detail, I do prefer the rear layout of the Blackpool variant. It looks neater and the position of the rear blinds, upper tail lights and black surrounds suits the City's design very well. Just to add, the difference in appearance is perhaps exacerbated by the lighting and the photo angle somewhat obscuring a part of the upper rear window of the Blackpool variant, whereas on the CT plus version it appears more prominent.

Looks so much better without those dirty looking burgundy wheels they insist on fitting onto the London ones.
