I've just seen an Enviro400 City heading south on the M6 south of Warrington. It had Arriva logos applied but I didn't notice a fleet number.

So it's a fusion of an E200 MMC with E400 sides and an LT rear, interesting. But I'd prefer a completely new design rather than using existing style influences. *Cough*Metrodecker/MCV EvoSeti/BYD Electric DD*Cough* Shouldn't complain though, it looks good and I'm all for new buses for London.

I'm looking forward to seeing these buses in service too. Overall I quite like the design. While the headlight arrangement is similar to the Enviro200 MMC, I think it looks better on this bus as it matches the design of the glazed staircase. The join between the upper deck front window and the slightly taller side windows does seem slightly odd though. This article on busandcoach.com has some more information: Sorry but since when is a glazed stairwell & a wrap over rear saloon windscreen the London look. I think they've been watching too many Rimmel adverts. Regardless of likes/dislikes of this bus, I'm no closer as to the purpose of this bus. It's as if ADL are ashamed to see loads of MMC's running around in London. There's that famous saying - "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" You could argue they're actually breaking it! More glass = more weight, and more difficult heat management issues.

They are now London's flagship bus, didn't you know? I feel this project must have been initiated by TfL. Specifically, to create a London centric bus after the New Routemaster project finishes next year.

Agreed and a bit over the top with the rear and the curve. Wonder how many people will think these are LTs as both are quite similar , judging from the Colour of the Poles these probably have the boring Interior that the LTs have.

I really like it. Maybe I'm just weird like that . I can't wait to see in person. Must go to visit the Bus Expo one of these years at NEC Birmingham.

Interior shot. At least the panels aren't all hideously dark.
