Interior shot. At least the panels aren't all hideously dark. looks good, personally I'd have preferred the proper seat frames as on the LT.

Does anyone else think it strange that ADL are now able to base a bus design on many of the NB4L's features? I can't imagine TfL so blatantly supporting ADL's version if the design rights contract with Wrightbus (ie. the first 1,000 production buses) hadn't been met. Does this mean that Wrightbus have agreement from TfL for a further 200?

I actually like it, it doesn't look that much different from the normal MMC at the rear. In fact it looks better than the MMC at the rear.

Interior shot. At least the panels aren't all hideously dark. I love the gold poles, but not a fan of that moquette. Nor the seat design. That is the original low floor bus spec seat that Stagecoach seem to keep and Arriva used initially in DLA, ADL, PDL etc.

The moquette above is pretty dull if I'm being honest, would of loved to see Arriva interior on a new Enviro 400 but obviously we won't get that chance.

Does this mean that Wrightbus have agreement from TfL for a further 200? I rather suspect Wrightbus don't own the rights to gold stanchions or the seat moquette. I hardly see how they can complain if someone creates a glass sided staircase. Given the way recent bus frontal design has mimicked mobile phone shapes I suspect phone designers have greater cause to complain about IPR infringement by bus manufacturers than Wrightbus might have with ADL. Anyway I'd not be amazed if TfL have been involved in the background. This has the ludicrous hallmarks of the Chief Bus Loonies trying to impose their modern day interpretation of a standard "bus for London" via the back door. There was an explicit denial by TfL that any more NB4Ls are being ordered beyond 808 vehicles. I know one journalist interpreted the denial as confirmation that another 200 had been ordered but nothing has gone to the TfL Board for approval and it would HAVE to go there given the total value of the project authority. There is no scope for hidden call offs or extras to be ordered without Board approval. As I have said before it would be career limiting for current TfL managers to try to order 200 more NB4Ls within a few months of the Mayoral election where we know 2, possibly 3, confirmed candidates are not in favour of the NB4L.

Interior shot. At least the panels aren't all hideously dark. Wouldn't be surprised if TfL start making all buses have a uniform livery like this

I think the current E400h City should have been the E400MMC to run alongside the single deck version as then they would both look alike.

Interior shot. At least the panels aren't all hideously dark. Doesn't seem bad at all. I'd prefer a red verson of Arriva's moquette though.

Exactly my thoughts. Then again, same is the case with the "Darth Vader" Gemini 3 which I didn't really understand the need for (other than to be quirky for the sake of it)

I see your points but could the same not be said about most buses? The ALX400 was perfectly OK, so does that mean the Enviro400 was pointless?

They've now picked up 25+ orders for the bodies on the euro6 chassis with Trent Barton returning to heavier chassis after years of ordering Optare vehicles.

The interior looks good to me, the gold poles and the panels look ace on a Enviro 400. I think this may have been a collaboration between Arriva and TfL to share the cost of the buses as I am presuming these will be Arriva owned buses but in a TfL interior. Unless this is a look to the future that all London buses will have a uniformed Tfl interior.
