Can anyone tell me if trams ran along Acre Lane (sw2) in London Transport days ? No they did not. The two 'trunk' roads were the A3(Clapham Road) and the A23(Brixton Road) The only 'east west' was Stockwell Road where the 34 tram ran, the precursor to the 45 bus.

Didn't Gresham Road & Coldharbour Lane have trams as well? Yes(But that was not the original question ) The 45 as was replaced the 34 tram, and was extended from Beaufort Street up to Sth Ken Station. I'll check my library tomorrow for some pics and tram maps

The London county council tramway slabs go beyond the depot entrance round towards the Bedford Road bus stop and I think there is one even on acre lane (but I could be wrong).

I'll check my library tomorrow for some pics and tram maps As promised, I attach: a) diagram of Clapham Depot. The site is now Sainsbury' Attachment Deleteds in more or less the same footprint. The side exit is now built over by a modern block next to supermarket exit(See Google earth) b) is a tram leaving the depot by the side exit, check the houses in the background as a reference for item a) c) The route diagrams for the area All three images are from 'Clapham and Streatham Tramways' by Middleton Press, a brilliant series of books on all areas of London. It's interesting to look at the backgrounds to the photos to see how an area you may know or live in, has changed, or not, over the years. Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted
