One news story is suggesting TfL are planning 39 extra buses Once again will be a token gesture compared to capacity of DLR and I wonder what the reasoning is behind describing the extra buses as running on key routes, its so vague, how is the public supposed to know what is a key route. Surely it would be more useful if there were definite extras such as between Canning Town and airport, or a list of sections that wont be covered such as Bank branch or Stratford-Canning Town. There really is no advantage in having the extra buses if people dont know where they will be running, or they fail to show up on Countdown etc

I have been advised that a DLR version of the "Vintage Bus Parade" will take place tomorrow and Wednesday. Routes D8, 474, 115, D7, 277, 147 and 473 will all see supplementary workings over the whole or part route BUT JUST AM AND PM PEAKS. Nothing off peak. Buses are coming from Ensign, Southern Transit, Abbey Travel, London Bus Company, Panther Travel, Newport Buses, Travelmaster. In short not unlike what we've seen before but there are some nice oldies featuring including T986 and M192 from Ensign [1] plus RMs from LBC. I expect Abbey Travel may shove out old NVs as they use these on RRS work. There is also an intensive shuttle between Excel and Canning Town featuring all sorts of Ensign vehicles including M1. [1] Did vjaska just faint from over excitement? Any chance of seeing some vintage workings south of the river on the 472?

I have no info about what might appear this week.

Oh man, why didn’t I spot that? I guess I got a little excited when I read that line up a couple of minutes after learning about the DLR strike this week 😳 I guess in the current climate there will be no extras...

Snowman posted to say that TfL have said there will be some extra bus coverage - we just don't know where. I think back in 2015 I was tipped off as to what might be running. No such message this time.

No such message this time. It says 49 extra buses (strange number, but almost exactly third of DLR fleet size) What I cannot tell is if the buses are being financed by TfL or by Keolis Amey (if the former, it seems fundamentally wrong for a taxpayer subsidied organisation to bankroll a private sector company on strike) tfl.gov.uk/info-for/media/press-releases/2018/march/advice-to-dlr-passengers-in-the-event-of-48hr-strikeStrike is 4am on Wednesday to 03:59 on Good Friday and 4am Fri 20 Apr - 03:59 Tue 24 Apr. Any chance of seeing some vintage workings south of the river on the 472? South of the river, I think it was the 180 and 199 that were chosen for enhancement during the 2015 strike. United Transit were involved with that one. No idea what, if anything, is being provided for the south side this time.

To be fair, if the extra buses were announced they would be filled up with enthusiasts.
I do know some little tip off style things
5 RML's and 1 RT operating on the 277 between Mile End and Isle of Dogs
108 some spare Darts
135 some heritage stuff
115, 161, 472 and some D routes
This is just from what has been mentioned on The Londoner page.

Are the extras tracked anywhere in LVF?

Are the extras tracked anywhere in LVF? Only buses fitted with I-bus will show, and only if logged into route Appears DLR is not 100% closed and there is couple of sections with trains including City airport-Canning Town and Beckton-Poplar so might be less (if any) replacement buses anyway
