Will these changes required extra buses?

Will these changes required extra buses? Judging by the fact both routes are getting frequency increases, and the added fact the EL2 will be a much longer route I imagine quite a few extra buses will be needed. I do wonder where some extra buses will be made availible for the route, as personally I can't think of anywhere WVLs would become spare in the next three weeks.

I assume something's been agreed with TfL - wouldn't be shocked to see older buses shoved on to the 20, 357 or D7 to free up WVLs of approximately the right age to go to the "ELs".

Just a thought- have all the ex-68 buses found new homes yet? I know this may well have been discussed at length elsewhere, but could some Es from the 68 displace some WVLs from SI?

Yes the 68 conversion is one other possible source of vehicles. I don't follow all the ins and outs of transfers so I've no clue as to what is going where or has already gone! I only find out when I go somewhere and go "oh don't know those were on that route now".

Could always convert the 474 to Es along with the 147 if enough spares.

Good thought - one other option is some of the ex 12 WVL's may move over there joining the two that moved to the EL routes a couple of years ago. Older stock elsewhere could probably cover them.

Saw WVL473 on route D7 last night. My guess is, as someone else has said, buses from SI will be robbed for the ELT extensions/increases. My educated guess is, like VWL451-454 were momentarily residents at Silvertown (just as the D7 got a frequency increase in both day and night time running); in addition to GAL trying to be as efficient as possible running the less than temporary 541 from BE but failing...(deep breath) WVL473 and others in its batch I assume it comes in, is on hold for the Transits. History (and the garage code) tells us that they are all likely to come from Q. Considering a PVR of 14 with 15 EHVs ordered and, only at the time WVL430 having its blind changed for the route, I'm sure the extra Volvos will be much appreciated relief for route 135. Would be interesting to have Es on the 474, considering every other bus type available has been on the route in recent times haha. I'm sorry snoggle but eastLondoner62 is right about the Westbury Road bus stop closure. Conducted thorough research, just for you and found that all bus stops with other routes have not had the 'glossy' treatment. To be clear, stops on Ilford Hill, Chapel Road, both stops on Station Parade in Barking and the eastern 2 stops on Ripple Road. All other stops, including that of 387 on Thames Road leading up to Barking Reach were given that treatment many long moons ago. In fact, Westbury Road and King Edwards Road bus stops were also included in the initial glamorisation phase, but fell into a state of disrepair by the council who owned the roads. Funny to note that the King Edward Road bus stop was recently remade, only for it to be moved a few meters up the road for better access to the construction and eventual residential site once built.

Timely then that new blinds have started appearing on Transits. I'll hold my reservations as to the new font.

6 extra buses per route. I have a pic of the new destination but won't let me upload it.
