It's been Barking Riverside on the new blindsets which started appearing about a fortnight ago. I had a ride on the new route today, we had quite a few people waiting for 5s and just letting the EL2 go past. There was a bit of chaos at Becontree Heath Bus Station as about 6/7 buses wanted to get into stand, I did see a few 150s go down to the Heath Park Estate stand and there was an EL2 standing at the Althorne Way Bus Stop. I hate to see how it will be on Monday when the EL2 and 150 will be at their full PVRs. One really irritating thing at Becontree Heath is that the EL2 does not share common stops with the 5 But instead it shares them with the 128/150 which go in a completely different direction. It is slightly irritating as you need to make the choice of a 5 or an EL2 before you get to the bus stop. Thanks bonkers that it don't share the 5 stop I thought the whole point was to help the 5. The only problem with that is- the 5 stop at Beconttee Heath is before the bus stand, the 128/150 stop is after the bus stand. If the EL2 was to share the 5 stop, it'd have to turn right out of the bus station, circumnavigate the roundabout at Civic Centre and back which, to me, seems a little but silly.

I see from the not yet updated Spider Map that by banning people from alighting at the stand they are forced to go down the road rather than be able to walk the short distance between the 5 stop and where the EL2 could pick up if TfL could be bothered. I suspect that's a version of the Richmond Bus Station "not accessible" stop issue. Looking on Streetview TfL could fix things by creating a stop near the exit of the stand area and moving the 5 stop further long. There is plenty of space and a bus lane so no issues really. Indeed and unlike Richmond, it's a lot easier to solve. Besides, the stop for terminating routes was rarely used by anyone other than 337 users which is probably why it was left there alongside the fact that by moving the stop slightly further down, you can decent wheelchair access for one route rather than none and the fact that the 337 remaining there maintains a connection from the north to east. If they reversed the direction of travel for the bus station, then you could move the 337's first stop and combine it with the main stop

The junction at "The Fiddlers" is a bit of a busy junction, not sure if there's enough room to have 5 frequent routes share the same stop there. Even round the corner at Morrisons there's 2 bus stops for 4 frequent routes

Have I been asleep for weeks or has the blind destination for the EL1 only very recently changed to "Barking Riverside"? It change when the new white blinds were fitted. I have yo say, the new style blinds look absolutely awful, particularly the Barking Riverside one I agree - the font looks way too squashed, small and ugly. Don't see the point in changing the font - it was fine the way it was before.

Might get busier when the new flats are built around Beconttee Heath

Here is WVL472 still wearing its London Central logos and SW garage code on the EL2 earlier today. I travelled from Martins Corner to Barking station earlier and saw plenty of people asking the driver if the bus was going to Barking, and lots just ignoring it because it wasn't a 5. When I was waiting at Barking Parade for a snap in the early morning, noticed the EL2 and 5 arriving within a minute of each other, in that order. The Transit coming from Becontree had a couple souls on it; they all alighted for the station. Judging by the 18 passengers who alighted and a relatively full deck left thereafter on the 5, it may take a while for travelling patterns to change; particularly if there are no updated maps to confide in.

I got an EL2 earlier from just past BK heading towards Becontree Heath. Mrs Thin Lizzy and I were the only two souls on there- people were giving the bus funny looks at every stop wondering if the EL2 was a little bit lost

I wonder how many people got on from the Dagenham Dock end and got off at Barking and waited for a 5. Reminds me when the 320 was extended to Catford everyone waited for the 208 and ignored the 320. LOL Same when the 136 was extended to Elephant & Castle everyone waited for the 343 & ignored the 136. Though within a few days everyone knew because they couldn't board a 343 anyways!

Given the ELT routes effectively have a dedicated fleet of vehicles it wouldn't exactly be difficult to put up some notices inside the buses. Is there nothing being shown on the Countdown displays in the buses?

Is there nothing being shown on the Countdown displays in the buses? Nothing- information went up at my bus stop on Monday, timetables are up at some stops yesterday. TBH, sometimes people don't read the information. When the Woolwich Arsenal DLR extension opened, somebody got on my train on the first day at King George (on the old terminating platform) expecting to go to Bank and set off a passenger alarm because he thought we were "going backwards"

The livery on the recently transferred WVL's remains an overall red, none of the batch AFAIK have received the ELT livery which could contribute to the confusion.
