I could never really work out the purpose of these proposals. If anything wuth the DD conversion of 72 and likely the 33 I'd have thought the Hammersmith section could have easily gone but tfl still planned to keep yet remove the 424 from sad end which was no buses. Maybe would have made more sense to divert the 424 at putney bridge to run to the new Wandsworth development and simply withdrawn the 485 to save money. One problem with this. It makes too much sense. However the 485, though short, still provides quicker links which otherwise would mean a change of bus. I'd keep the 485, maybe route it to Putney Heath in lieu of the 424 and run the 424 vice versa to Wandsworth.

Shame the 485 won't get a short but useful extension into Wandsworth Town Centre to terminate at Southside like the 28 & 220 do.
They will keep the routeing away from the 28/220 stand I think, because when the gyratory becomes two-way they will run it to serve the north side of the shopping precinct... although it looks from the consultation side that they would have to put a bus stand outside the centre if as it looks they plan to run it clockwise. Terminating at Ram Street as it does now would force people to walk.
From what I understood from the consultation, the 485's routing in Wandsworth will be unaffected and continue to stand in Ram Street - not particularly useful for anyone wanting Sainsburys, the hugely popular Cineworld & the restaurants/fast food outlets next to Cineworld. There's lots of stand space by Southside car park where the 28 & 220 stand where even the 485 would hardly make a dent in it lol.

Seems that way, maybe they will realise a stand in Ram Street is hopeless for people using the 485 to travel to Southside and alter it. Who knows, it may well end up sharing the east side 28/220 stand.

Good news, mainly for the people of Sands End. This was always an odd consultation, substantially changing two bus routes in the main for a development on the back of the Thames, couldn't they just double run the 485? I'm pleased. The new riverside quarter is very unlikely to spawn many bus passengers , indeed I doubt many normal Londoners will be able to afford to live there. The existing housing estates win, which is good news indeed.

The existing housing estates win, which is good news indeed. From the north-east end of Eastfields Avenue it's looks like a 10 minute walk at the most to the existing stops at Frogmore (no more than 400-450 metres away) so I really think TfL went overboard here. Yes, I completely agree, the estates that NEED this route win. Looking at Google maps I'd keep everything as it is... I wouldn't even double-run the 485 through here like I suggested earlier. It's not exactly St. Raphael's in Wembley!

You may find TfL have no choice. I'd not be shocked to find that they have S106 funding from the developer of the Riverside flats to fund public transport access so they have to do something. I doubt they can spend it elsewhere in Wandsworth.

I know you did a "Lol" on the end but the S106 money has to be spent serving the development that's forked out the money!

I would have liked the plans for the 485 to go ahead. It would be great to have a bus from Putney Heath to Hammersmith.
