Fairfield 'Bus Station' in Kingston has bothered me ever since the 85 moved to another stand. The separate bus stops used to be better and when there were more routes. (57, 85, 131, 213, 485, K5, N77, N213 all stopped in 2003) (57, 131, 213, N87 only remain in 2016) If it will be called a bus station it should surely have more routes stop there. Another bother of mine would be Dalston Junction 'Bus Station', with only the 488. The K5 still stops at Fairfield Bus Station. Out of interest, how many routes would you say make up a bus station? Genuine question by the way. Having recently visited what Arriva's timetable laughably refers to in Leysdown as a ' bus station' the threshold can be quite low!

Suggested reopening date for the "Hanging Gardens of Croydon" is 17 Sept 2016. I don't recall "Summer" covering September so another TfL project is late.

I passed it the other day and it looks nearly complete - the ancient looking frame is there and it looks ridiculously even more out of place than the old bus station which contrasted well with the massive building next door.

If it's taken this long to build the bus station, I wonder how long it's going to take to build the new shopping centre!

The tower blocks in Croydon seem to go up in the blink of an eye by comparison lol.

Sure the old bus station was looking a bit old and tired but I couldn't complain. It had a roof and was quite spacious so capacity wasn't exactly an issue either. And let's be honest, it'll take a lot more than just a new bus station to make West Croydon look good lol

It won't take them too long because they have the imperative of getting the place built and open and trading so they can rake in the money. Money talks and especially for developers of shopping centres. They know what they're doing. We should get them to redevelop bus stations .......

Suffice to say there was no activity taking place on site on Sunday, no notion of working around the clock to get it reopened.

Plenty of activity going on the last few days I can assure you., carrying out some route tests today and resurfacing starting this week. Having toured the new site it's a vast improvement. quote author=" sid" source="/post/342793/thread" timestamp="1471882706"]Suffice to say there was no activity taking place on site on Sunday, no notion of working around the clock to get it reopened.[/quote]

Photo of the new bus station now the hoardings are down. www.flickr.com/photos/kake_pugh/29365553661/in/pool-londonreconnections/ (not mine) Way more than 14 days work left there assuming the place has to be cleaned, checked over, snagged and then signed off and the staff trained / familiarised with the place. Therefore the suggested date of 17 September looks unlikely to be met looking at the photos.
