Well I am lost for words. I have been hard at work all day and now relaxing at home and excited to hear how the 710s have performed on the GOBLIN. I thought at worst they would get some trains out and some problem would mean they would have to return to depot. Never did it cross my mind they would not run at all because ORR documentation had not been handed over to the Operator. I really am struggling to see how this could have been missed. I suppose nothing should really surprise me anymore.
Tomorrow is another day, let's hope for better, I can't be more positive than that!

With a large number of 710s at Willesden Junction depot already, is the timeline known yet for the 710s to fully take over the Barking line, and subsequently be introduced on the Watford line?

The individual units have to do a minimum fault free distance, but the main constraint on Goblin is that many drivers are not yet trained I think it was said that full 710 service on Goblin is unlikely for about 6 weeks (but full service using mix of types is closer, with 378s gradually being replaced during second half June) Not sure if the trains are yet passed for operation on dc in passenger service (to speed things up a restricted certificate has been issued initially), until this is done then can't be used on Watford line (neither can the 5 car units be used on North London Line).

As I type this on Thurs morning both units are heading for Gospel Oak as ECS workings to then take up their planned passenger carrying slots! EDIT - Both trains are in passenger service on the GOBLIN. Haven't been on them myself but plenty of social media commentary and photos.

Good they are finally making it to service but what were they thinking putting orange and green together? Those colours do not match, it doesn't look good at all in my opinion.

Just came from home on one from Barking. It’s a lovely train. Compared to the 378, there’s nothing to bang your head on sitting down - I’ve lost count of the times I’ve whacked myself on the side destination box. The end of each train is tip up seats with USB charging ports on the end wall of the train. The lighting is interesting as well, it seems to visibly change colour temperature just before departure (the advert screen does say it has dynamic lighting, or words to that effect). It had a minor hiccup ... happily announcing itself as the train to Gospel Oak, then announced ‘Destination of train changed. Train is for Barking’, compete with terminates here messages. Then announced the change back to Gospel Oak! Hey ho. I look forward to them taking over fully on the GOB.

Now you see why i am not keen on them 😉 Should have just kept the old moquette. I may be missing a joke or some humour here but are you really disliking a brand new, air conditioned electric train because you don't like the moquette? They seem to be very quiet, smooth and fast and yet the seat colour outweighs all that?
