Finally an outcome. See below: That's interesting, but no surprise. Also suggests other consultations might have the plug pulled on them in order to save money. I wonder how they're now going to get Hybrids onto the route, the only solution I can think of is to get TEHs onto it from somewhere. Perhaps swap the intended VWHs with the MMC TEHs on the 332. Then move the 332 to PV to fill the space left by the 79?

The only option they may have to go with is to extend it to Highgate Wood via the 143 & 603 routing - of course, that means spending money which is the total opposite to TfL's current mantra. I deliberately avoided coming up with scenarios that increased mileage because of the point you make about TfL finances.

My prediction upthread was that they'd end up extending to Highgate Wood, possibly out of service, but pay for it by reducing the frequency.

Very interesting. I don't think TfL know what they are going to do longer term which is why they are looking at 'other options'. If money wasn't an issue it would not be difficult to find a solution (then of course the new stand would have been created), but the financial situation will make this an interesting one to watch. I don't think the result will be good news if the terminus is moved. Of course they could keep the existing stand and use TEHs. TfL could specify new MMCs I suppose and these would probably fit, maybe slighter shorter buses might be manufactured if requested. I am none too sure Metroline would be keen to order new MMCs at the current time! If I were really to have a laugh at an out of the box suggestion for buses, how about asking Wrightbus to manufacture some ST buses (the shorter version of the LT), these would probably fit!!!

The shortest length for the MMC is 10.3m - I'm not sure it could be customised to be even shorter given lengths of vehicles are always increasing. ST812 is 10.6m and too long to work given the VWH's at HT are 10.5m (new face ones are 10.6m).

Isn't it just a case of shuffling a few allocations and putting TEH's on the 271?

It would probably be easier sending 32’s TEHs to the 332, the MMC’s to 271 and the 271’s VWHs to the 32 so if W don’ t want Volvo’s, they don't have to get them.

However EW have Volvos right now on the 113 I know that, thats why I suggested sending 271s Volvos to EW for 32 in return for the TEHs. 332 doesn't even need to be involved.
