Not sure if this is quite the right place for a post about Glasgow's Subway aka the Clockwork Orange.
It's going to get new unmanned trains and a new signalling and control system.
It might be better to do this and see how it goes before TFL put driverless trains on the tube, as a testbase. The livery looks like Sydney Trains in Australia.
This is a very brave move by the transport people in Glasgow. The subway has a tiny profile and there are no side walkways in the tunnels. Further the use of Stadler as a supplier of such a complex solution and new trains is not without risk. They have no great experience of building tube type stock and are also new to the UK market. I just hope someone has worked through all the project risks and made sure they are mitigated or properly allocated with funding in case things go wrong.
