Thinking of the plans to change / destroy the famous bus stand at Highgate Hill, made me consider other bus stands that are favourites of mine.
Be they down side roads, in town centres, in bus stations or at boring roundabouts, there are some to be found in lovely little locations all around our great capital city.
Nominate away...

I nominate Westerham and Chartwell on the 246 - two great places to spend 10-15 minutes of stand time

My favourite bus stand is South Grove, Highgate Hill for the 271. There is a particular charm about it that I can't quite put my finger on, maybe it's the 'villagy' feel of the area coupled with the fact that double decks use a relatively confined space as a destination and turnaround point. It's a shame that it won't exist anymore, I would keep it for the prospect of a new route to use in the future.

Favourite bus station is Vauxhall Bus Station - so simple to interchange between different modes and a decent shelter from most weather. Only negative would be that it's not enclosed instead as that would help shelter from the wind. Before it was torn down, West Croydon & Edgware were tied for second & Cromwell Road in third

Another vote for Highgate Village - have had some very nice summer weekend afternoons drinking in the pub opposite, watching 271s roll in and out.
Another favourite comes from the days before the 121 got diverted into Enfield Island Village (c.2000) - the old Swan & Pike stand in Enfield Lock was literally a tiny turning circle surrounded by trees, next to a river, accessed by a single track lane hollowed out in the shape of a bus. I don't think I've ever seen a photo so I'm relying on fading memory to draw a picture. If anyone has pictoral evidence I'd love to see it!

I actually quite like the St George's Hospital stand and the Tees Drive stand on the 296. Just nice outer London, remote feeling stands. Also quite like the Leytonstone stand too for the 66, 145 and W13

. I've always liked Hampstead Heath (24 stand) . I was there early this morning, it has a villagey / communal feel about it, with a nice cafe right next to the pick up point.
Putney Common (22) is in a nice place, unique little turning circle.
Warren Street's route 14 terminus looks quite bizarre, on some sort of island road between dual carriageways and the Euston Underpass.
My favourite bus station is Richmond. Hardly a bus station at all really. When the police station used to be there, apparently there was an agreement that crews could use the nick's toilets.

The 271 stand is one I've boarded at quite often (and alighted from even more often!) I miss Highgate.

As a kid one of my favorite bus stands was Heathrow Central Bus Station, especially where it's where I first boarded a Metrobus on the 285. Also use to travel there once in a while on the Red Rover just to see the airplanes. Also love the Longmead Road bus stand at Tooting Broadway as it seems somewhat unique having a bus stand in a fork in the road (not sure if there are any other London bus stands that have a similar setup). As a kid I would often watch the driver's turn the buses around, trying to guess which drivers will turn it around without having to reverse.

My local stand nomination is the Lonsdale Avenue stand in East Ham. As well as the East Ham, Lonsdale Avenue display, there's also East Ham, Greatfield Avenue and Beckton Alps display blinds. It is quite unheard of to get three displays for 1 turning point, at least out of central London anyway.
Outside of my comfort zone, South End Green has got my vote! When you remember the 24 is the oldest unchanged bus route, and it stands on a cobbled road unchanged for some time; it brings together the perfect harmony of 'status quo' in my eyes.

I like the bus stands and bus stations in around Beckton, there very quite. I also like Walthamstow Bus Station with all the information provided there, including rare countdown displays. Shame you get congestion through there

Can i just throw another couple in i thought of 174 stand at Ford Foundry i think i was in there once on a sunday when i worked at NS also the main works stand on the 175. I often thought what that would have been like years back when the 25s etc went in there.Going alot further back i think it was 348 had a nice turning point ive only been there in rallies though so i might be wrong on the route number.
