Surely a single door bus is better than no bus at all? And surprising they are the norm in most of the UK. They are better than none, but the difference is the length of the bus, while 10.2/8 m buses would be normal with single doors, here in London TFL specifies them with 2 doors. The 8.9 m buses however dont have room for 2 doors. This shorter length means less capacity, which is why we mock those workings. A Personally, I think most TfL routes that use 8.8m/8.9m single door buses should be upgraded to dual door 9.3m to 9.6m buses. I believe only a handful of these routes would have length issues with these longer dual door buses such as the H2, H3 & R8. The 450 has shown how replacing 8.8m MPD's with 9.3m dual door Darts helps with passenger flow at busy times.

Ahh, I bet those commuters miss the days of 8041 trundling through Feltham High Street, crammed like sardines - you know, enjoying that rare working on 235! rare? They would throw the MPDs from the H20 on the route if they could get away with it

Abellio is good at these kind of workings. Just come to Twickenham during morning rush hour That's absolutely correct. Once I was on 8041 which is on the R70 during the morning rush hour at Twickenham and although the School students were absolutely an racket on the bus, I miss that time when I was on the oldest Abellio bus surviving in London.

There's quite a few routes that I can think of in south east London.
138,162,354,356,322,315,G1,273,336,146,R8 as well as other R routes and probably a few more routes.

Thankfully the 152 won't have such 'odd' workings anymore as AL don't have any single door spec'd buses.

434 is one route which uses 8.9M E200's, as well as routes S4 and 367. Also, the 404, 463 and K5 use 8.9m Solo's and Streetlites.
