Doubt any will be ordered in London especially given the old body on a Scania chassis was never ordered by any London operator which is a massive shame as they are good buses. Stagecoach apparently have some on order for the provinces.

To be honest I'd be surprised if any London spec examples appear beyond a possible demonstrator, especially with Go-Ahead London who've substantially reduced their Scania fleet in favour of Volvo and ADL.

Not currently aware of any plans to get LNG buses in London I doubt it's just a natural gas version especially the demonstrator in the pic has nothing on it suggesting it's a natural gas version. The same bus has also been touring with local Essex independents like Stephenson's of Essex so I'd be very surprised to see a smaller operator trial something like a natural gas vehicle.

Would be good to see LU having a go since they have that massive Scania fleet, however they are currently on a Volvo high so seems very unlikely.

Unless the fuel economy has improved dramatically, don't expect Stagecoach to be ordering any of them if they are done in London spec

Scania apparently refused to incorporate changes Stagecoach wanted and Stagecoach have effectively breached manufacturer's warranties on more recent buses by modifying them anyway. Unless Scania change their minds there won't be any more Stagecoach orders. The only hope Scania have is if the gas powered double decker proves a winner and more than a couple of operators [1] decide to buy them. [1] Reading and possibly Nottingham.

Very interesting although it is a shame that we won't see any in London (for the time being). I'm sure if Metrobus weren't under GAL, they would still be ordering Scanias, but how have times changed!

The Scania Omnicity DD & Optare Omnidekka have been discontinued for a while so Metrobus would of had to switch to a new type anyway.

I'll agree that Scania are a drivers bus - their lorries are also fantastic from a drivers point of view - but I actually preferred Volvo. The ones we had on the 150 at First were different to the ones they had at CentreWest and were equipped with the "floating" dash. Every control you needed really was in a really comfortable position. I'll see if I can find a picture.. I'm sure @chazaroo had a picture somewhere of the ones for the EL routes which was a similar design. Edit: Found one... Similar to this only our tacho head and the heater controls were on the opposite sides

Similar to this only our tacho head and the heater controls were on the opposite sidesThe WVLs we have at MB are the same layout as the ones you had on the 150, however for accelerating give me a Scania as they are not so restricted unlike the volvos which struggle with any hill.
