Reminds me a bit of the MCW Metroliner, which Ensign loved in the 90s for their London Pride fleet.
Don't like this "thing" though, looks a bit cheap and old fashioned to me

Ive seen high capcity volov deckers round st albans on private hire work a few times i would think they would do the job just as well

The "Enterprise" looks a bit like an Astromega from the side but the "face" below the windscreen looks most odd to me, almost malevolent. I'm a bit sceptical about the role for these things but it's very rare that Ensign and the Newmans put a foot wrong so I assume they have done their research and know their market.

The article in the latest issue of Buses magazine explains that there is high demand for second-hand three-axle Volvo B9TLs, which have been out of production for some time now. Though I am kind of surprised that a variant of the Enviro500 either isn't available or suitable.
I don't think it looks too bad other than the lower front area (though Aintree's livery appears to at least disguise it partly). It's certainly not as stylish as many other buses however that doesn't seem so important for a vehicle mainly used for rail replacement and private hire work.

What Ensign buy from ADL - that would be novel.

Feel free to shoot me but apart from the bottom section under the windscreen, I think these look very nice.

Feel free to shoot me but apart from the bottom section under the windscreen, I think these look very nice. I partly share your fondness of them. It is mentioned that they "fill the niche between a bus and a luxury coach", in essence a low height double deck Tri-Axle. My only gripe is the height of these vehicles, I think their design lends itself to the full height 14.5/6" configuration better, their low height makes them look 'vertically squashed'. I could be wrong about their height, it might just be an illusion due to their length.
