RATP have set up a new "book in advance" premium commuter minibus service in Bristol. It uses app booking with fixed fares and only operates M-F peak periods. An interesting departure for RATP to be trialling. Worth noting that the similar Ultrabus service has folded in London while the owners recapitalise the business and develop a way of better advertising the service (source - Buses magazine). www.slidebristol.com/twitter.com/slidebristol

Nice concept but I think the likes of FirstGroup can sleep safely in their beds with this one

I suppose it was wise of them to subcontract to existing firm, keeps risks to a minimum to start with.
On demand services in more regional towns / cities in France is well established, looks like a model has been imported from across the Channel !

Yes I've read some not too favourable things about CityFox on some forums

Regarding Ultrabus, not surprised the well heeled in N10 turned their noses up at going in a minibus to work as if pensioners out on a jaunt from the Day Centre Again, there's Addison Lee if you can't bear the Tube. Apparently they did get a reasonable number of regulars *but* not enough to turn a profit. Somewhat oddly they apparently thought their well heeled passengers would use "word of mouth" to sell the service to their colleagues and neighbours. Unsurprisingly that didn't happen so they are going to relaunch with the help of some proper PR support. The London Service Permits for the 705 route has been suspended. The permits for 3 other routes are not being progressed at this time.
