2) Which garage received the last allocation of RTL's?
3) What were there only 3 of in 1958 but 23 of in 1964?
4) What was odd about RTL's 676 and 1005?
5) What was unique about RTW 413?

1. 95? 2. Hatfield? 3. Roof box RTLs 4. Due to an error the former received a non-Met Camm body and the latter a Met Camm one. 5. Two pedal control (pneumonocyclic I believe) - originally on RTW 375.

Pretty good 3/5 1) No it was the 1 on a Saturday out of AC 2) Hatfield was 1959, Brixton and Highgate got RTLs after that, no the last was Rye Lane, Peckham 3) Correct 4) Correct 5) Correct

My friend, who knows about such things, believes thet Stonebridge was the last to receive RTLs. Any further comments before I put him straight?
By the way was HF the only Country garage to operate RTLs. I thought Grays had some for a short time.

Hatfield was the only country garage to operate green RTL's in service, although it is possible that there were some unrecorded loans, none of these were ever photograhed. As you may know the green RTL's were a common sight in London after 1960 as after withdrawal from HF, they were all allocated to the training fleet and used at both central and country garages as trainers before sale in 1964 with many going to Yugoslavia.
Your mate is way off, SE got their RTL's in January 1962 (for 112), followed by BN in May 1963 (for 50 and 57 then the 133 after RTW's arrived) then HT in August 1963 ( for 196) RL got their RTL's in June 1964 for their operations on the 12, using RTL's displaced from AF by RM's

Many thanks. I'll tell him when I see him next. By the way, excellent slide show at LOTS last night (22 Nov.) Some really fierce stuff!
