"This is the London Overground service to Chestnut. The next station is Tottenham Hotspur" New station, New Trains, New Name! Same old, usual nonsense from that club and from their petty chairmen. Stop being jealous at what Arsenal does and do your own thing....

"This is the London Overground service to Chestnut. The next station is Tottenham Hotspur" New station, New Trains, New Name! New b*ll*cks! Hopefully the locals will turn round and say "no please keep White Hart Lane" as the name. I really object to local identities that have stood the test of time being under threat because some business (this is not an anti football rant) thinks they can wave some "wonga" at TfL and it can just buy the station name it wants. Everyone knows the Spurs ground is at White Hart Lane and that's the station to use (if you don't want a walk from Seven Sisters). Why change it? Pointless.

When "Ampere Way" tram stop was renamed "IKEA Ampere Way" there was absolute uproar from the other traders in the complex that they had to change it back.

And I suppose the next one to change would be Fulham Broadway?

Next, we'll be hearing "This is a District Line train to Wimbledon, the next station is Chelsea" I don't like the idea that they can change the name of stations just like that to match their football clubs. Can't they just say "The Next Station is Gillespie Road, Alight here for the Emirates Stadium"??

And in Scotland, by the time they'd got some of the names out the train would have stopped and started again!

Could be bias from me being a Gooner myself but Gillespie Road was renamed to Arsenal in the early 30's (1932 IIRC) so why would you change it after 90 odd years.

Changed because some scum moved from south of the river. Now as a Spurs fan, leave the station as it is. Keep it as WHL and have an add on saying for Spurs. However a new station is a brilliant idea though would be great if NR and Abellio could do the same with Northumberland Park, which seems to be the main station fans from Essex and East London use. Vjaska, think you'll find Arsenal copied first by invading North London
