A question about the above turn, does this still exist/or was only used unofficially? I recall that when I lived in North Cheam (junction of London Road and Senhouse Road) I would quite frequently see route 93 buses heading down Senhouse Road, I can also remember being turfed off at the North Cheam Sainsbury's stop too - and have a faint memory of seeing 'North Cheam Sainsburys' on the blind too. However when I read the route record on the Ian Armstrong site, no such turning point is mentioned.
I had seen route 293 buses using this too - on route 93, was this used as a shortcut to Priory Road, or one used to get back to Sutton garage a bit quicker for relief? Another memory I had only thought about again recently after a few years......
On the same type of subject, am I right in assuming the Stonecot Hill turn was along Grand Drive, round Beverley Roundabout then back along Grand Drive again? The record seems to point at that, apologies it's not quite the thread title on that last point but it's the same route (and used to happen quite a bit when I lived that way)....

In the late 1960s I worked the 93 route out of Putney garage. We certainly had NORTH CHEAM "Queen Victoria" on the blinds and was used on turning the Epsom scheduled buses when running late. We also had SUTTON COMMON ROAD "Woodstock" on the blinds as we used to have a duty which worked two or three short workings to Morden from there and in those days you was busy. I'm sure we used to park up in the carpark of the "Woodstock". Great Days

The Queen Victoria turn is still used as is Sutton Common Rd The Woodstock - though the pub has been demolished and replaced by an Asda
The 93s go down Tudor Drive to the Beverley roundabout and then back up Tudor Drive to wait near the Woodstock junction.

Lovely thanks - with that Stonecot Hill turn I always imagined the bus going in a circuit round a few side streets, was surprised to find it ended up at the Beverley..... Plus been in that Asda as well, looks bigger from the outside and didn't have a great range of stuff
