The telling thing with the official statement is what it misses out. No reference to commuter services from Kent to London so I'd expect to see some degree of rationalisation between Clarkes and Kings Ferry to get costs down and improve loadings on a revised network. Unlikely to be immediate as it will take some time for things to sort themselves out and for National Express to develop a view on how to revise things. The Clarkes commuter webpage says "no changes" but we all know what can happen. Will be interesting to see if ticket prices rise in due course.

Are national express keeping the Clarkes of London fleet name I think so. Nothing to suggest it will vanish given the general theme of "business as usual". National Express will, no doubt, strip out cost behind the scenes but aim to preserve the reputation and goodwill associated with the name. You'd hardly know Kings Ferry are Nat Ex owned from external appearances (or from the Nat Ex corporate website). Oddly there is nothing on the Nat Ex corporate website. I'd have expected something to have been announced to Investors but can't see anything.
