I mean, E1-15 with Euro 6 engines does sound interesting (if it ever materialises). It's sadly likely that those buses will be cascaded away from the air quality corridors, perhaps pushing out any remaining B7TLs elsewhere within the fleet. That's assuming they themselves do not get withdrawn from TfL service. The current plan seems to be : no more contract wins for any buses not euroV or above (euroIV was acceptable until few months ag) Swap new buses into these corridors, Upgrade buses on routes where contract ends after ULEZ start date, so compliant with ULEZ As it's so new, unclear if buses will get swapped back when the other (non corridor) route eventually gets new buses The decision to split ULEZ into two dates, April 2019 for inner London and later (tba) date for remainder (for buses, coaches, trucks) means its unclear how many buses will be upgraded (instead of replaced) by introduction date. It's currently looking that by end of 2017, approx 3500 buses will be euroVI so ULEZ compatible. But about 1500 euroIII, about 700 euroIV and about 3500 euroV will remain (there is a quarterly bus audit published where numbers can be checked, next one due couple of weeks), but I have estimated for now. Assuming TfL cut bus fleet back to about 8850 from current 9350 as some routes with very slow running in Central London are trimmed (TfL are aiming to maintain mileage, not fleet size, and faster outer routes need less buses for same miles) that reduces fleet by say 500 buses (back to similar fleet size as 3 years ago) Also assuming they replace about 70 buses month during 2018 and 2019. And Upgrade about 3000 buses then should just about be good for a London wide ULEZ in 2020. My guess is the majority of buses being upgraded will be euroV, so unless the Operator finances E1-15, I think they are destined to leave London service in couple of years time.

"It seems that the Brixton Zone, set to be introduced in October, will cover the main A23 from the Stockwell Road/Gresham Road junction to the A23/A205 junction close to Brixton Hill Tram Depot. Routes 37, 345 and P5 are probably not affected as they merely cross the A23 rather than go along it. Routes 2/N2, 3/N3, 35, 59, 109/N109, 133/N133, 159, 333 and 415 are already run with complaint buses but 45, 118, 196, 250, 322, 355, 432 and P4 are not. With none of these routes due new buses by October another grand switch-around of vehicles is inevitable. The Putney scheme involved the movement of 76 buses (38 in and 38 out). The total pvr of the affected Brixton routes is 120 so (with spares and the necessary double-shuffle) that is a potential transfer of 250+ buses and, has happened with Peckham Garage losing 24 of its new MHVs to cover the Putney area, there will necessarily be a 'raid' on existing hybrids or euro6 route allocations elsewhere." I love how no one has asked the Mayor why not every bus route has still not been converted to Euro VI and what his reasoning is with having three bus routes that serve the bus corridor in one direction only exempt altogether from the scheme.
