VLA102 making strange noises when idle, it sort of resembles air being forced out of something, this happens every 10 seconds or so. Most likely one of these Air Dryer Blocked Air Dryer Unload Auto leveling air suspension adjusting itself

Not what I'd call clapped but 8026 had erratic shaking while idle Vibrating a lot whilst in idle is quite a common issue with a lot of Darts & Enviro 200's. The SPD's that the 227 had were very bad for excessive vibrating whilst idling. It's lose Engine mounts

A sort of security key drivers need to turn the engine on. Without It the ignition switch 'usually' only works as far as turning the dashboard lights on. The RIBAS system also records how the bus is driven, through its sensors. You don't need a RIBAS key to start a bus or drive a bus, Not for GAL anyway

15041 decided to dump all its gearbox oil all over the road in Blackfen on the 51 with yours truly on board at about 2200 this evening. What is it about these Scania's and gearboxes this is the 3rd one I have been on with gearbox problems in the last few weeks. You sure it was gearbox and not Engine oil, I've known them to engine lose oil and go bang but never known one to lose gearbox oil, Define gearbox problems ?

E212 on the 36 had an annoying high-pitched beeping noise every second in the upper deck, wasn't sure of what it was. No RIBAS key, driver not logged in, drives you mad don't it

But all that effort of transferring the buses from Metrobus, buying new blinds, and dealing with the mechanical problems will go to waste (whether is gets a different batch of buses, or GAL the lose the route) The Scanias will not go to waste as they are allocated for the mammoth amount of school routes BE currently operates. Correct, on paper only 3 are for the 498

Scania's are non standard, slow, clapped out and rattle like they are going to fall apart, The E's on the other hand have almost nothing wrong with them other than they need a refub plus BE already has 3 but at the moment they seem to be spending an ever increasing amount of the time off the road But all that effort of transferring the buses from Metrobus, buying new blinds, and dealing with the mechanical problems will go to waste (whether is gets a different batch of buses, or GAL the lose the route) I was kinda joking about the E's I really wouldn't mind seeing the back of Go-Ahead, I just don't have anything good to say about them and their operation, yes the scania's were an improvement (well anything would be over a 12 year old unfurnished bus) but a company that has buses out almost every day without blinds and has done for many months without bothering to fix them kinda just says they don't care

Awaiting 498 Tender results... Whens that result going to be due October 2014 Do you not think it would be a bit pointless if I said I was awaiting the results for a route that's not even up for tender for a very long time like the E10 ?

Hopefully it is retained with existing buses - existing E's from the 196. I don't see why this would happen. The route already has 09 plate buses, so why swap it with older ones? The 07 plate omnidekkas for the 405 have really fat front bumpers, and their rear lights are a bit below from where they should be. Why were these made bigger and these differences also make the Omnidekkas unique So they meet TFL spec

As a passenger I must say it drives me cRaZy when the bell is rang non stop! especially when parents sit and let children do it non stop. There seems to be a new phrase of ringing a bell as soon as the driver closes his doors from the previous stop even before he has moved off Some people who press the bell late expect you to slam the brakes on to serve the stop they want.... sorry but i am not causing an accident/passenger injury just for you. The impression i get is people see buses as a personal taxi service Would mess up your Drive Green score lol

I was on my 62 home today, and many people (including me) were planning to get off. Like 5 people pressed the bell, and then we heard the driver threatening to miss the stop if the bell was pressed once more. If he had missed the stop I would have certainly filed a complaint against him. Does anyone know what the rules and consequences are in this situation? There seems to be a new phrase of ringing a bell as soon as the driver closes his doors from the previous stop even before he has moved off (WARNING! Jeremy Clarkson Mode WARNING!) I would take them outside and execute them in front of their families. Ringing the bell for the next stop before the driver has even moved off from the last is a joke When you want to get off - Simply press the bell once as you approach the stop where you want to get off This is like people who just stand at a bus stop and expect a bus to stop Getting to the point where TFL should have Adverts that provide the following information Signal the bus to stop - As the bus approaches, check the route number AND destination displayed on the front of the bus. Raise your arm as a signal to the driver that you want the bus to stop. The following ways to pay are acceptable : Any Valid Oyster card with pay as you go credit, Travelcard or Bus & Tram Pass A contactless payment card to pay as you go A Day Travelcard A Southern Key with Valid Travelcard Unless you had a valid way of payment you won't be able to travel on the bus When you want to get off - Simply press the bell once, as you approach the stop where you want to get off It's really not that hard is it
