So why did you say interview in the opening post of the thread then? Don’t forget then that everything runs less frequently to get there for 6am. If it’s an induction, you still don’t want to be late.

If you’re going for an interview, the last thing I’d do is rely on the roads. You just can’t tell what the traffic’s going to be like. Yes, I know the trains can equally get stuck, but I would say it’s more likely to be a safer bet.

Was the 55 at all busy to Leyton Green when it was at Leyton, Bakers Arms instead of Walthamstow? I was concerned that the high street link would be lost when the 48 was Withdrawn and the 55 was extended to Walthamstow. Extending the 55 to Walthamstow only removed one stop from your ‘High Street link’ on the old route - that of the Leyton Green terminus itself, either outside Tesco going to Hackney or opposite it as the last stop. So, a few people, me included as I’m a few minutes walk down the High Road from there, would get on and off there if travelling into town, especially as the cretins at Waltham Forest moved the common stop for the 48 (as was)/55/56 Bakers Arms stop halfway down Lea Bridge Road when they put the cycle lane in. As a violent objector to the 48 being withdrawn, I’m going to quietly mutter under my breath, begrudgingly, that removing the 48 and extending the 55 has worked. COVID probably helped though by thinning out demand.

I really don’t understand this one and why it’s a good idea.
The bus has its battery drained back to the grid to provide power, but then its self-same battery recharged from the grid before it can go out? How is this a benefit?

I wonder with all these tfl cuts will there be any changes to routes in Romford or Collier row area . Nothing is planned for that area you mentioned as far as I know it's only central London routes that are affected by the cuts The Lea Bridge Road and my local route, the 48, would beg to differ.

Won’t be happening, ever (well at least this design). Can’t go through the tunnel as it doesn’t have end doors. Best you get is the cast-offs from the North London line when their 5 car 710s go into service. Are doors at the front of the drivers cab required only when the train goes into separate tunnels.
I cannot remember the East London line, is there sections that it runs in separate tunnels.
Yes, you need the front door if you can’t get out the side onto the track/side emergency access. The original Brunel tunnels between Wapping and Rotherhithe are the problem, they’re separate.

IMO it’s vapourware, like so many uberhyped Omsi addons are. I would dearly love to be proved wrong, but if this ever sees the light of day I’ll eat my hat.

That’s a brilliant piece of work and thanks for sharing. LVF is great, but if you don’t know a route it’s hard sometimes to work out where buses are if you’re looking at the whole route’s run-out. I’ve found that Vehicle Monitoring does work, but you can only enter a 5 digit fleet number - i.e. it’ll work to track a Stagecoach bus (not surprising as it’s written by someone who works for Stagecoach). My only niggle, and I hate to say it, is that it hasn’t kept up with recent service changes, so e.g. 55 doesn’t reach Walthamstow on the stops. Really minor stuff I know.

So I did a very scientific survey today, a walk down Lea Bridge Road this morning before the heavens opened from the Bakers Arms to Lea Bridge station, about 10am. In that time, ONE bus passed me heading into town. Yes one in about 20-25 minutes. It’s no wonder that people are moaning that they can’t get on buses. As a matter of interest, how many buses passed in the opposite direction? Was the one bus a 55, and did it appear to be full? I was walking in a bit of a dreamworld tbh. It was a 55 going towards Oxford Circus, didn’t look full (but outside the rush). I noticed two 55s in quick succession going up the road towards Walthamstow, one with destination blinds merrily winding away as it was going along (changing destination or broken, who knows?). There could have been more, but I was on the “into town” side of the road.

Hopefully they'll start being introduced on the West Anglia lines and the Romford to Upminster line shortly. What is with that weird cardboard dalek alien looking thing. In the replies to the tweet linked, it’s to test the CCTV cameras at each station. It is stood at every set of doors for a few seconds at each platform.

Forgot to quote, sorry ... responding to comment that the SEe on 357 weren’t tracking on LVF...
They were tracking, but the diversions were substantial ... for the routes heading to Chingford Mount, including the 357 it was via Blackhorse Road station. As soon as they left Walthamstow Central they were essentially going into a black hole. How anyone managed to run anything approaching a service today was beyond me, vitriol aimed squarely at LB Waltham Forest here rather than the poor sods driving and controlling.

A quick one ... the 357 has the electrics out to play ... 2 x SEe so far.
Word of warning though ... Walthamstow is going to be even worse than usual for travel today because of Car Free Day. Hoe Street is closed from the Central towards Bell Corner, which will stuff up many routes including this one.

Thanks for sharing the picture. It’ll be nice to see these in service, be interesting to see how reliable the geofencing and batteries are to keep the engine off in the Ultra Low Emission Zone.
The 5 year me looks at this livery and goes ‘bleurgh’ though. 48 year old me understands the need to trumpet their Green credentials, especially with the Green Party having a bit more sway than usual in the city, but wishes they could have done something a bit more classy based around their normal B&H livery.
