That's what I believe is happening - Once the logjam is cleared, they should be okay. As for the X26 buses, yes they are old buses, but they are a reasonably unique bus, in that there are only about 20 in service in London, so you wouldn't reasonably expect the brackets to be held in stock.

Lol im sure a lot of the management at that depot will get into trouble now. Is LG/LC trying to cut costs because they may be doing this to cut the cost of the engineer fixing it. The engineers at the garage don't fix problems with iBus - they have to get someone in from tfl to do it. Therefore, it is in their interest to get it fixed asap!

According to Lots news (14th) there are a number of new buses in store awaiting I-bus and ticket machines. Seems daft when last week TfL were desperate for extra buses to cover the tube strike. I thought on bus ticket sales had been abandoned in zone 1 so they could have been used during the strikes. If TfL were prepared to allow buses without correct destination blinds or route numbers, during the strike, why did they worry about having I-bus fitted Unless there is a shortage of equipment and they are planning to pinch it from a bus being withdrawn, why aren't these things planned. There must be about 17 buses on average per week which enter service, replacing withdrawn ones, surely they are not waiting for one to be withdrawn before installing the next I-bus and ticket machine www.lots.org.uk/I had it explained to me by my ibus manager that there were around 500 spare kits, which is plenty enough to cope with the demand of replacing old buses with new - However, the problem is that the new buses have the kit sent off to be put in by the bus builder, and as all the buses are running very late, the old buses have yet to be replaced with the new ones - Therefore, the amount of kit is/has run out. Metrobus, I believe, are waiting for the kit to be fitted on the X26 replacement buses, and have been for several weeks. The reason given is that every bus is slightly different, and therefore different brackets need to be found/manufactured for each little variant.

I believe it is Save Victor Samaras who was dismissed some while ago for asking stupid questions It is used by the engineers to denote a bus that is being serviced that day, so that it is only used for a short time, or not at all.

701 & 702 have gone back to Orpington so no longer on the 130 The 705 is still at Croydon it was on the 202 today. Why would this bus remain at Croydon, when it is the spare bus for the R2 contract (PVR 4 + 1 spare?).

Crawley is not iBus fitted ... so any bid involving Crawley will have to include this cost Thats not neccessarily true (although may be the case) as a lot of LC/LG routes ibus control is done from locations remote to their home depot so if for example the 405 were to be operated by crawley, there is no reason for croydon not controlling it from their base station. It doesn't matter where the routes are controlled from, you still need the infrastructure at the garage where the buses are based, including wireless networking, to get the information to and from the buses. So, any tender based at Crawley would indeed have to have this built in.

Isn't PVL265 one of the commercial fleet, rather than the TfL fleet - Therefore, it is not in the iBus scope?

they sure are ugly! any truth in the rumour that the trial failed miserably, and therefore they are a bit embarressed that their new vehicles won't fit!
