Does anyone know what running numbers the 51 and 227 will use from Saturday? The 51 will be BX21 to 39 (Block previously allocated to the 401’s and 321 BX Allocation) The 227 will be MB121 to 132

It was Londonbusroutes.net that had the report of route 100 moving from SI to Q today rather than in September. It even had the route running from London Central now. LVF inevitably has the typical E200s on route 100. Is there any evidence on the road or inside Q of route 100 having moved today? This change is no longer shown on the website and does not seem to have happened. The change has occurred Q now operate the 100 with the current SE’s which have moved over from SI until its new SEe’s arrive.

PVL296 and WVL’s120/121 have been withdrawn.
BX still has PVL284 so is the first and last garage to operate the type in tfl service.
PVL284 was back on the road on schools work yesterday.

I mean it was said that the tax expired on the 31st, I am aware that they can go a number of days but it was said that it would be going at the end of May and as it did not come into service in June until today it appeared so. It's last day was a Friday - weekends have lower PVR's so less buses needed. Plans can and do change - always best to just wait as I'm sure we would of got confirmation anyway. I’ve been told and can confirm PVL284 has been re taxed and will be out soon, it was out on the 625 on Monday but is now in for an FFD exam and needs a turbo gasket change so when thats done it’ll return to service again.

It's still going - buses can go a number of days before really re-appearing for all sorts of reasons. I mean it was said that the tax expired on the 31st, I am aware that they can go a number of days but it was said that it would be going at the end of May and as it did not come into service in June until today it appeared so. Its been re-taxed. Its MOT is october so it’ll be likely that it’ll remain in service until then or sometime before.

Wonder what the plan is with MB and BX and reblinding? E244 appears to now have 51 on the blinds The current fleet of E buses at BX will slowly be reblinded as will the EN’s and WVL’s from MB. A few of the BX E’s have been done already as BX will start operating a route 291 PM peak bus this week using the bus that comes off the afternoon 658. The new blinds should have 51, 89, 132, 180 (Incl Erith Quarry and NG), 291, 321, 486, B16 and school buses on them. Afaik E46 and E’s 243-245 have been done already with others slowly following suit. E’s will take priority for now (as the 291 will be restricted to E buses) then the rest of the fleet and incoming fleet from MB will follow suit over time.

EN35 has had the Metrobus removed from the logo and new BX codes That was quick They are being serviced at BX in the run up to their formal transfer in June so the codes have been applied as the buses come up from MB. When the blinds fainally arrive some will probabaly be reblinded early with BX sets as well.

How is that any different to getting new blinds for MB and getting inserts at BX ... 6 of one, half a dozen of the other! At MB, blinds would only need the 208 added as inserts. However if the 51's vehicles keep their existing blinds, all BX routes would need to be added for fleet flexibility. So makes more sense for BX to get the new ones. The existing vehicles at BX will also need route 51 added as inserts. New blinds have been ordered for BX that include 51 and 291 on them as the 291 gets a BX allocation in the PM peak from June using one of BX’s route 658 school buses.

You need to account for spares as well.

Why are 658 (part) and 624 run from Q when BX, MB or MG are a lot closer Its done like that due to cross links with other routes. The 624’s and Q operated 658’s cross link on and off the X68. From the beginning of June one of the BX 658’s will be cross linked off the 291 in the pm peak.

Blinds where only displayed for photos at specific locations. That’s what happened in about the second half, but the first, they had the dests Not in Service was displayed when the bus was running with the exception of the photo stops as already mentioned. The only difference was that ‘51 Not in Service’ may have been showing when on the 51 leg due to the blind needing to be disconnected from the control unit to set the route number.

What if they have a hybrid shortage and have no choice but to put a euro 6 diesel? They have a choice, its either an NSB or a 12.50 fine The fine is £100 for a bus if it enters service within the ULEZ zone.

Is there any particular reason why the N21 is using EHs instead of LTs? Don't get me wrong I prefer the conventional hybrids on there (quicker than an LT imo) but I'd have thought the 21's Routemasters were ULEZ compliant. The N21 has been converted to conventional hybrids as some journeys cross link on and off the N89 halfway through a driving spell.
